FBI agents conduct raids in Mich., Ohio, Ind.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The FBI said Sunday that agents conducted weekend raids in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio and arrested at least three people, and a militia leader in Michigan said the target of at least one of the raids was a Christian militia group.

Federal warrants were sealed, but FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said there had been activity in two southwest Michigan counties near the Ohio state line. She wouldn't say whether they were tied to the raids in the other states.

FBI spokesman Scott Wilson in Cleveland said agents arrested two people Saturday after raids in two towns in Ohio. A third arrest was made in northeast Illinois on Sunday, a day after a raid took place just over the border in northwest Indiana.

Michael Lackomar, a spokesman for the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, said one of his team leaders got a frantic phone call Saturday evening from members of Hutaree, a Christian militia group, who said their property in southwest Michigan was being raided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

"They said they were under attack by the ATF and wanted a place to hide," Lackomar said. "My team leader said, 'no thanks.' "

Actually, they just look more like a very extreme religious group. This appears to have made them vulnerable to certain reactionary christophobic elements of the current regime. The current operation may have been intended as a provocation or some kind of a test, in which case we are probably participating and our reactions are being assessed. To Big Sis just believing in Christ and owning guns makes you an extremist.

They don’t seem to have been on anybody’s radar previously and they were operating openly as their videos and web site show. Other than bad taste in background music I didn’t see much wrong with the one video I watched but I don’t plan to take the time to screen the entire opus.

It will be interesting to see what kind of crimes they are charged with.

Why do you call them flakes and nuts? They say the end times are near. and because they are a Militia styled group, They are organized Militarily. Are is it that you believee that no way would Obama attact Christians Groups or try to confiscate fire arms, or even pass a very unpopular medical legislation. Watch out for gun control legislation.
The christian flakes will pray for our country, and keep our firearms out of sight.
Are the “end times” near? I or no one else knows.

That much, you got right.

Why Lon isn't in jail yet is one of the reasons most of us feel the system is irrevocably screwed...

My story is off... but what I'm driving at here is that the authorities need no reason to arrest any one of us...least of all, a bunch of Christian Militia members. They'll do something in order to get us across that line, whether it's ethical or not.

Two criteria for a SBS (short barreled shotgun) classification. Barrel length and length over all. Either one of which will make it an SBS subject to the additional registration requirements for the TAX stamp.

Randy supposedly cut the barrels to 18". Someone else shortened the stocks... Instant Felony for Randy.

I'm betting on Tannerite. You can make it home with an old blender and powders you can buy off ebay. Looks impressive on film and the general public won't know the difference.

Who in their right f*cking mind "BUYS" someone elses improvised munitions?

You mean even if the improvised munitions are certified safe and effective by the national council of improvised ordnance manufacturers? (It's a five second fuse really.:-)

A few miles from me in Over the Rhine tons of weapons are in the hands of common criminals.
Usually the victims are just serfs like you and me.
If the city police threaten that status quo, the Federal Goverment comes down hard on the city police.
If an unlucky aristocrat going to the opera house is killed then County Sheriff clamps down a bit, nothing more.
These murderers are the bread and butter of the federal government and therby a protected class.
A few more miles from me, in the outlying ‘burbs where I grew up, a neighbor, a white Vietnam Vet, farmer, living with his parents, no criminal record, had his home surrounded by an ATF SWAT TEAM, because they believed he had an altered shotgun.
He fit the profile, he was thought by his etnicity and location a THREAT to larger Government, instead of in the case of downtown murderers an excuse for larger Government.
At least that is what I make of it.

I posted this on another thread:

Probing tacticts. Will the sheep graze while the fedgov, with a willing media, slanders and destroys Carl Drega, or will they rise to his defence?

That is the object here.

I'm just amazed that their is a minimum length for a shotgun? Who came up with that rule? Doesn't that conflict with the 2nd amendment??

The bible’s word on this is “he who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Not “he who wins a military victory will be saved.”

probing tactics

That's my first thought too. Who will rise to take the bait. This regime is poking, prodding and instigating. Poke a stick into a tiger's cage long enough and you get bit.

Feebie plant: Hey... Make some pipe bombs for me.
Militiamen: No. Piss off...
Feebie: Come on. I got a buyer...
Militiamen: Who would be stupid enough?
Feebie: Come on. We'll get $1000 a piece for 'em. Promise!
Militimen: No sh*t? We could upgrade to ACGOS for that. Ok... But just a couple.

Tell me it couldn't happen just like that...

Why?

From: Detroit New

http://www.detnews.com/article/20100328/METRO/3280313/1361/Seven-arrested-in-FBI-raids-linked-to-Christian-militia-group

“Sources have said the FBI was in the second day of raids around the southeastern Michigan city of Adrian that are connected to a militia group, known as the Hutaree, an Adrian-based group whose members describe themselves as Christian soldiers preparing for the arrival and battle with the anti-Christ.”

“WXYZ-TV reports that helicopters were spotted in the sky for much of Saturday night, and agents set up checkpoints throughout the area. Witnesses told the station that it was like a small army had descended on the area. The Department of Homeland Security and the Joint Terrorism Task Force are also involved in the raids.”

“Mike Lackomar, of Michiganmilitia.com, said both The Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia and the Michiganmilitia.com were not a part of the raid.”

“Lackomar said he heard from other militia members that the FBI targeted the Hutaree after its members made threats of violence against Islamic organizations.”

“Last night and into today the FBI conducted a raid against homes belonging to the Hutaree. They are a religious cult. They are not part of our militia community,” he said.”

“Lackomar said he was told there were five arrests Saturday and another five early Sunday. The FBI declined to comment.”

“One of the Hutaree members called a Michigan militia leader for assistance Saturday after federal agents had already began their raid, Lackomar said, but the militia member — who is of Islamic decent and had heard about the threats — declined to offer help. That Michigan militia leader is now working with federal officials to provide information on the Hutaree member for the investigation, Lackomar said Sunday. “

Wonder if they called Janet Reno? Seems like I remember something that happened in Waco that was like this.

Not defending the group, I know nothing about them. But I would not have wanted to have any connection to David Koresh. Still, what happened at their compound was an avoidable tradgedy.

And yes, my youngest is still in diapers. The above is not an understatement.

Tomorrow ought to be interesting.

DH remarked that the historical signing of the healthcare bill was the beginning of the End Times. I gotta go along with that; more and more dead babies ...

OK... They were a cult. Ok... they were militia nuts prepping for some mythical "end times".

What real crime did they commit?

Name the person harmed. Name the damage done. Name the perp.

Without that, this is just another travesty on top of many.

How many more must we suffer?
