ORLANDO, Fla . . .The people parked in a Kappa Sigma lot. Mike Vedder thinks they were set up. He doesn't know if it was a dislike of the conservative commentator or money . . .
They all said an event parking sign clearly directed them into the lot. Students at the fraternity wouldn't comment, but WFTV caught up with the owner of Orange County Towing and Recovery, Ronald Hulbert.
"I have a lot at stake, a lot invested. I'm not going to lose it over a $125 tow, times 53, times 53, it was a good day," Ronald Hulbert said.
Hulbert admits he's never towed that many cars in one day before; he said it took him at least eight hours to tow all the cars. Each driver had to pay cash, netting him more than $6,600.

Sounds like aset-up to me
When I was in college, I used to park cars in a lot that didn’t belong to me for extra cash during football season. Mine never ended up being towed, however (I would’ve been thrown in jail, probably).
Kappa Sigs were aholes 40 years ago and nothing has changed since.
Ducking for cover from the KS Freeps.
Nice. That is the OTHER SIDE we deal with. I’m sure all the tea party people felt it was STILL worth it.
A similar thing happened during a grateful dead concert in Denver. An entire lot of cars was towed by one company after parkers were led to believe it was a legitimate lot.
Impounding lot operators are right in there with mother stabbers, father rapers, and mass litterers like Arlo Guthry i.e. absolute scum of the Earth. There’s nothing too bad for such people.

Wow...my thoughts exactly. LOL
Sounds like a frat thing. College idiots set it up to piss off the Beckies.
Charming comments from the ‘college punk elite’ at the link...
Everyone towed should file suit jointly, and depose the owner, Paul Gamble. Learn his role: did he know in advance people were being directed onto his property? Who called the towing company? Someone is guilty of fraud.
I’d ask Glenn Beck to hire the attorney and contact those who were towed.
We used to watch this happen regularly in Chicago on Saturday nights. It was the parking lot right across from Wrigley Field - the owners (or somebody) would park a few “bait” cars in the clearly posted lot so as to catch the unwary.
The towing company would then get about 6 trucks at once and nab all the cars. they wouldn’t bring them directly to the tow lot, but rather “stage” them at a closer lot so that they could get all the cars faster.
Quite a lucrative business.
I’d be offering cash for photos or video of that lot with the signs up before the event and the resident frat boys watching the cares come in, and a bonus for photos or video of them removing the signs.
Report the chapter to Kappa Sigma national fraternity; they are real skittish about lawsuits and bad publicity over the actions of a few brats.
Kinda makes me wonder what would happen if I went to get my car, the crook demanded hundreds to retrieve my car, and looked up to see a 40-cal Glock pointed at his little prick head....
I’m guessing he’d toss the keys and wish me a nice evening.
Ahhhh. That would be the Lincoln Park Pirates, yes? Lincoln Park Towing had quite a reputation.......see Steve Goodman’s song. Are they still up to their old tricks?
Little more than a prank in my opinion. Someone needs to face criminal charges.
I wouldn’t go meekly on this one. I would track down the culprits, most likely Kappa Sigma members with the impound lot owner as an accomplice. Hopefully, those who had their cars towed will not let this drop.
