President Barack Obama is promoting his health care law's benefits for small businesses as he tries to rally public support for the massive overhaul.
During a speech Thursday in Portland, Maine the second stop in a series of appearances to sell the reforms Obama was to focus on the plan's short- and long-term impacts on small businesses, many of which have suffered during the economic downturn.
Under the plan, businesses with 25 or fewer employees with average annual wages of less than $50,000 will receive tax credits this year if they provide health care coverage to their workers. Those credits are expected to increase by 2014, with 4 million small businesses benefiting, according to the White House.
Businesses that may be eligible for the tax credits with receive letters from the government in the coming weeks, another step in the administration's efforts to tout the benefits of the overhaul.
Also starting in 2014, companies with up to 100 employees will be able to buy insurance through new state-based purchasing pools, or exchanges, with the goal of giving small businesses the same kind of purchasing power as employees at larger companies. Twenty-two million self-employed Americans will also be able to purchase insurance through the exchanges.

Since this is really just macro Cloward-Piven strategy and the traitor-in-chief knows this full well, I wonder if he has trouble keeping a straight face while claiming that the key to getting more golden eggs out of the goose is to choke the $#!+ out of it?
Liars do what they do, they lie.
And commies are the biggest liars of them all.
Liars do what they do, they lie.
And commies are the biggest liars of them all.
BUMP!
I got this joke emailed to me today.
Sen. Reid goes to a local GM dealer in Washington , D.C. with the intention of buying a brand new vehicle. Harry looks around and finds one he likes.
After going back and forth with the salesman, Harry settles on a price of $45,000.
Harry and the salesman go back to the office to complete the paperwork. Harry works out a 4-year payment plan, and signs on the bottom line.
The salesman shakes Harry’s hand and says, “Thanks Senator Reid, the car will be ready for pickup in 4 years.”
Harry says, “What are you talking about? Where are the keys to my new car?”
The salesman replies, “No, you don’t understand Senator. You make payments for 4 years... THEN we give you the car. You know, just like your health plan”.
Harry, with a choking voice, says to the salesman, “But that’s not fair”. And I say without any doubt or embarrassment:
NO $#IT!
Get with the program Harry !!!!!!!!!!
Will he tell them that the cost of any penalty will be far less than having to provide the benefit?
Or will he simply lie and change the rules later.
Should be a real short speech.
Isn’t the tax credit $250 per covered employee, but the average cost of coverage is like $1,100? Some incentive.
What is important is that Obama says it. If Obama says it then it doesnt matter if all businesses fold under this and the deficit skyrockets. We will know that he did the right thing and we would have been worse off without him. Obama’ words are what counts.
That is his logic anyway.
If it’s so great, why is he continuing to have to sell it?
I’ve been in sales for 20+ years. People don’t want to be sold, they buy what they feel is a good deal. If the administration feels they have to “sell” it, that’s all you need to know.
Any small-business owner worth anything....is going to examine the "tax credits" vs. the cost of providing health care for employee's. IOW, they probably aren't going to do it.
Tax credits! HA!!
The benefit is a government handout. Of course a handout is a benefit for the recipient. The cost will be paid by taxpayers. There’s nothing here for Obama to be bragging about.
LOL! -- He will make it long nonetheless.
Soetero isn’t a lunatic. He’s well instructed on what to do since he is a Great Deceiver.
Shell game. You can trust Barry.
Apparently, Barack edited this piece, too...
Now we know why he never published at Harvard Law Review!
I am starting to think that he is not only NOT THAT SMART, he may even have a stupid streak. Everytime he opens his mouth he loses more support, but he just can’t seem to help himself.
I have always shared your view, but the MSM keeps saying how "intelligent" and "brilliant" he is. Of course keeping Joe Biden around makes anyone look like a genius.
