TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - After a second day of trying, KGUN9 News has finally obtained a response from the White House on Governor Brewer's request to send the National Guard to patrol Arizona's border. While not directly addressing the deployment question, the statement promised that the administration will continue "monitoring" the situation.

Some states, If I understand rightly, already have a state level militia. If AZ has one, they should deploy them to the border immediately and tell Obozo to go to hell.

They don’t care about border security (where illegals, drugs, and real terrorist come over), but they will try to set up some Militia with the FBI that are basically a non threat to the US. What a waste of time and man power. What a joke!
Oh yeah I forgot this is the same government that said they cannot control our borders, but they know how to control health care. LOL!

From the article:
"By the end of the business day, Nunez was able to obtain this carefully worded statement from White House spokesman Adam Abrams: "The President is firmly committed to ensuring our borders are secure. It is why the Administration has taken important steps including deploying additional law enforcement resources to reduce illegal flows across the border and supporting Mexico's efforts against drug trafficking organizations. We are carefully monitoring the situation and will continue to ensure that we are doing everything necessary to keep communities along the Southwest border safe."
How much you wanna bet the cross border traffic he refers to is the oft-repeated canard of guns headed south?

Sickening. Since they won’t obey their basic obligations to protect us, can we stop paying taxes and listening to their Stalinist rules now?

Ranchers murdered; border towns overrun; public lands and resources being destroyed and this administration tells us to go pound sand. Should have know this was going to be the reply; after all Big Sis felt that as DHS she should visit Rhode Island rather than do anything on the border. Lord knows flooding is much bigger threat to national security than an open border.AWB

Maybe its time for the states to regain control of their guard troops. The sooner, the better. The MIC (muslim in chief) would appoint an illegal alien as border czar to monitor the situation.

So why doesn't the governor of Arizona just call up the national guard?

So why doesn't the governor of Arizona just call up the national guard? Check the comments at the link to KGUN9 news. Arizona is in a budget crisis and doesn't want to pay for the call-up if we can get the Federal Gov't to do so.
Personally, I think it's criminal that the two entities are playing this game.

National Guard Troops have a dual mission: State and Federal.
The Governor of ANY state can mobilize their troops (on STATE active duty{SAD}) whenever they so desire - typically, this is reserved for natural disaters in state or at the behest of another Governor (asking assistance from 1 Gov. to another) to lend assistance in their current situation.
However, I know of NO restriction on calling troops to SAD. The only situational difference is who pays.

That's the problem with states rights..the states are so dependent on federal government funds that they have lost any ability to operate independently. Seems to me the states need to start electing politicians who not only talk the states rights talk but also walk the walk.
