Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate
Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.
The allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days have given Obama a clear lead as Republicans struggled to fetch an alternative.
Ryans campaign began to crumble on Monday following the release of embarrassing records from his divorce. In the records, his ex-wife, Boston Public actress Jeri Ryan, said her former husband took her to kinky sex clubs in Paris, New York and New Orleans.
“Its clear to me that a vigorous debate on the issues most likely could not take place if I remain in the race,” Ryan, 44, said in a statement. “What would take place, rather, is a brutal, scorched-earth campaign the kind of campaign that has turned off so many voters, the kind of politics I refuse to play.”
Although Ryan disputed the allegations, saying he and his wife went to one avant-garde club in Paris and left because they felt uncomfortable, lashed out at the media and said it was “truly outrageous” that the Chicago Tribune got a judge to unseal the records.
The Republican choice will become an instant underdog in the campaign for the seat of retiring Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald, since Obama held a wide lead even before the scandal broke.
“I feel for him actually,” Obama told a Chicago TV station. “What hes gone through over the last three days I think is something you wouldnt wish on anybody.”
The Republican state committee must now choose a replacement for Ryan, who had won in the primaries against seven contenders. Its task is complicated by the fact that Obama holds a comfortable lead in the polls and is widely regarded as a rising Democratic star.
The chairwoman of the Illinois Republican Party, Judy Topinka, said at a news conference, after Ryan withdrew, that Republicans would probably take several weeks to settle on a new candidate.
“Obviously, this is a bad week for our party and our state,” she said.
As recently as Thursday, spokesmen for the Ryan campaign still insisted that Ryan would remain in the race. Ryan had defended himself saying, “Theres no breaking of any laws. Theres no breaking of any marriage laws. Theres no breaking of the Ten Commandments anywhere.”
Some posts on you tube before comments were disabled said this tape was spliced together giving a false impression...who knows anymore...
Its a Black thing .....America is not his home country ...someplace in Africa is ....a pathetic way of looking at things
She slipped up.
The late Johnny Cash once said in ‘The Farmers Almanac’ (1991), “Lies have to be covered up, truth can run around naked.”
no, no, no, no ,no...its not a black thing.
I think she tried to say his “ancestral” home country. It came out like his “home country”- meaning he was born there. For some reason, the smartest woman on the planet after Hillary has a bit of trouble with the english language.
Because Michelle ma-belle is a birther?
hmmm..never saw that article before. That’s a keeper..
This has been posted 5 or 6 times that I saw, and it is NOT ENOUGH TIMES to post it!
EVERYone needs to hear this from Michelle’s mouth herself!
Because Obama’s a dirty moslem from Kenya.
BECAUSE IT IS WHERE OBAMA WAS BORN
see Nachum’s post under yours...I think this is what she meant ...remember all that “Root” stuff ? Its a big thing in the black community
Some of us self-identify as Irish, Italian, Polish, etc.; it could have been that kind of mistake.
I have sent this video to everyone on my email list. I suggest each and every freeper do the same!!
That one needs more exposure!
Seriously, no pun intended.
I think I would rather think that they are evil geniuses, than complete morons. However... the word "duh" seems to apply these people. Frequently.
You beat me - when I read the question I said “because it is” - laughed and planned to post it and then there you are - post #2!
You gotta wonder if they passed the hiv test!!
Be careful with this link,I used it a few days ago and was savaged by the trolls on here.
I don’t know.
Exactly, and zero has and never will pass the smell test in my judgment.
If this is legit why isn’t Hannity, Limbaugh and every conservative leaning newspaper in the country running with this. I’d be afraid to show this around without proof it’s for real.
Almost certainly, you are correct. It was a misstatement -- though a dumb one in light of the COLB controversy.
If Bush (or any Republican) had made a similar misstatement about, say, Germany being his "home country", can you imagine the furor that would result?
See post 25.
It’s from a Kenyan newspaper - not the most reliable source.
The video appears pretty real. It just came out as of 2 days ago and the media have other reasons for not discussing Obama’s lack of eligibility, which they are not publicly announcing.
King Butt, born in Indonesia,

Because she hates the US?
How about from the Kenyan Parliament who discussed Obama's election victory on November 5, 2008:
"Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the President-elect, Mr. Obama, is a son of the soil of THIS country... It is only proper and fitting that the country which he originates from should show the excitement...."
That article has supposedly been “Snoped”, and I don’t believe it—it looks fishy because...
.... it refers to the AP as a “birther organization in 2004”.
So I guess I can pose the a similar argument that the anti-birthers pose about the newspaper ad that supposedly proves his US birth, here it goes: “Yeah the AP KNEW he was going to be president, and they KNEW the “birther” crowd would someday NEED something like this to continue controversy”.
Is that real or photoshop?
I saw a similar photo of a Kenyan sign that had the exact same background—it could have been a reverse job though—where they photoshopped what you posted to make what you posted look fake.
“Be careful with this link,I used it a few days ago and was savaged by the trolls on here.”
Me too. I was sent to a Snopes link that referred to the AP as “birthers in 2004”. PLEASE. Snopes can’t even be believed at this point.
Maybe she’s tired of being his beard?
Damn. You’re on it!
As if ours are reliable. They’re so damn biased I refuse to buy one let alone read one.
“His home country of Kenya”
“My Muslim faith”
Just a slip of the tongue - nothing to see here. Move along.
Not sure - just found it someplace ... if someone could read that script ...
LOL, I love that saying!
I have said that I’m Irish, obviously referring to my heritage, but when asked my “home country,” I can’t imagine saying anything but “America”.
It’s kind of like Obama’s “my Muslim faith” quote. I just can’t imagine accidentally saying “my Muslim faith” instead of “my Christin faith.”
Oh, that’s rich!
NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OFFICIAL REPORT
Wednesday, 5th November, 2008
The House met at 9.00 a.m.
Dr. Khalwale: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have heard none other than the Leader of Government Business acknowledge that because of Obamas win in the United States of America (USA), the House is crippled.
Could we allow him to move a Motion for Adjournment so that we could also continue the celebrations of having a Kenyan ruling the USA? I humbly request! *****[note - “having a Kenyan ruling the USA”!]
Mr. Deputy Speaker: Order, Mr. Vice-President! We are citizens of the Republic of Kenya! This is a supreme institution of this country. Our responsibility is to our country, first and foremost.
We are not citizens of the USA! Much as we appreciate and we are all happy; nonetheless we are a country ourselves.
So, it is not an excuse for a Minister to be away from his own Parliament, because he is celebrating the victory of another presidential candidate in another country.
The Assistant Minister for Water and Irrigation (Mr. Kiunjuri): Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as you can see, people are really celebrating.
However, I am wondering whether the Americans have not reported to work and yet it is their victory.
I am also hoping that there will be no homecoming for Obama. If there is one, the Leader of Government Business should alert us in good time so that we can set up a committee to organize for his homecoming. *[note - Obama having a Homecoming to Kenya!]
Ms. Odhiambo: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the President-elect, Mr. Obama, is a son of the soil of this country.
