Thanks for all the help....fortunately, though, all we do with our computers is "play" - no online buying, banking, etc.

Sometimes, it's a good thing to be a dinosaur....

Nothing compares to Windows in ease of use, hence that is where everything is built. Unix is nice, MVS is sweet (but simple).

Feh. FORTRAN forever.

Cheers!

You're lucky.
My PayPal account sent me an e-mail, reporting "suspicious activity", E-bay shopping is addictive.

Interesting. I trust you - member since ‘98 - but fear kicked in - I couldn’t make myself click on the link... I’ll do it later. Thanks for the insights.

And the worst part is that there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it ONCE the malware is introduced.

Well, except seeing the internet connection suddenly begin blinking madly for no apparent reason and unplugging the cable....

There was a study some years back - I don’t know where to look for it now.

I wrote my first perfect program in Fortran. Thought about it a lot, coded it up on sheets first, popped it into to the card reader, and it worked first time.

Doesn’t happen often but I remember the first time.

Magic square. Worst part is that I still have it in a box ;-]

Wasn’t it an interesting effort to port BLISS-32 (64) to any other architecture? (Alpha was the only port while I was involved).
