I don’t see how it could discharge if the slide were pulled back.

It was Utah. That would be, “Hold ma’ non-alcoholic beer.”

The vehicle had just crossed the border into Utah, and Glines reportedly was explaining how the gun wouldn't fire if the slide was pushed back when the weapon discharged a single shot.

Agreed. I think all the hype and nifty things that some guns like Glocks are supposed to do/feature gets people all weeweed up and they think they’re safe when they really just need to follow a few simple steps instead.

I’ve got a variety of pistols including a Glock. The only way to hurt yourself or someone else by accident is by doing something very stupid.

The bullet went through Glines' left hand and hit the forearm of the driver, identified as Ben Baugh, 23, of American Fork. The bullet also struck the driver's side door just below the window. Mr. Glines needs to checked for blood born pathogens. That bullet that passed through his hand injected his blood and tissue in to Mr. Baughs forearm.

The gun did not “go off”. A person fired the gun.

Depends on the Sig. My Sig Pro had (before that terrible boating accident where I lost all my firearms) no safety, just a decocking lever.

Does anyone sensible trust gun safeties? The only reliable safety is the training of the person holding the firearm. Everything else is just decorative. I may use the safety, but I NEVER trust it, nor do I ever pull the trigger except to make the gun go “BOOM!”

Every gun is loaded, all the time. If I watch you break down clean and reasemble a a pistol. When you hand it to me I’m going tu check it.

I carry a .40 Glock and the only way it goes off is a finger on a trigger. Would you recomment a .40 Glock over a 9mm? I am enticed by the lower kick and cheaper ammo. I think I need only mocerate protectiona and want to do a fair ammount of range shooting. Interested in your take on this.....

With an attitude like that, you’ll never have the excitement of a “hold my beer” moment.
