RD>I carry a .40 Glock and the only way it goes off is a finger on a trigger.

Technically, not true.

I have read at least one account of a person reholstering his Glock and a shirt getting caught in the trigger, making the gun discharge. Could never happen with my Kimber as it has a thumb safety AND a grip safety.

If you believe that story,
there are folks who have a bridge to sell you.

What is more likely is; he inserted his gun
into his holster with his finger on the trigger

The MAGNET. I forgot the MAGNET. That’s what went wrong!

Many freepers have had similar accidents: No, Mr. government man, I don’t have any firearms. Lost ‘em all in a boating/fishing accident...

One of the men called 911.

Operator: "911, what is the nature of your emergency?"

Driver: "I need an ambulance. I just beat the living shit out a passenger in my car."

I have to admit, I wouldn’t want to trust my life to a .9MM either. :)

Hype? Oh you mean the 45 isn’t a good caliber to put people down?

Shot placement is more important than caliber. If someone is going to practice more with a 9MM than a .45, it makes more sense for that person to buy the 9.

‘Shot placement is more important than caliber”

Sure it does. Very very few people have good shot placement in a firefight. Range time helps but unless you’ve been under fire recently then you have little chance of good shot placement.

The story I recall was hat of an officer in a bathroom stall getting everything together. Why is it implausible that of the millions of times officers who carry Glocks are in the bathroom that this scenrio would not play out at least once?????

The amazing thing to me is the fact that CA madates magazine disconnects and other supuerfluous and silly things, yet allows the Glock to be sold without a safety.

I am not a fan of Glocks.....they are reliable and tught as hell, but I want a safety unless I am in a warzone.

Glocks are not carried in condition 0. At best, you could relate it to a 1/2 cock position as the striker still needs to be pulled 1/2 way back in order to fire the glock.

If it is not Condition 1, it is Condition Zero.

Your knowledge of glock pistols is very limited. Equating a striker fired pistol to a 1911 by applying 1911 terminology to it as though they are mechanically similar is very telling.

Absent a mechanical defect it is impossible to fire a glock pistol without pulling the trigger, regardless of amount or direction of force applied anywhere else on the pistol.

And where did I say otherwise? The shirt example? Is that impossible?
