Obama leaves WH without press, breaking protocol

President Barack Obama quietly breached years of protocol on Saturday morning by leaving the White House without the press with him.

About two hours before reporters were supposed to be in position to leave with the president, Obama left the grounds of the White House. Members of the press were told he was attending one of his daughter's soccer games in northwest Washington, D.C.

The White House press corps traditionally travels with the president anywhere he goes, inside and outside the country, to report on the president's activities for the benefit of informing the public and for historical record.

You think? I hope you are right. Don't they say that Bolton is mentoring her?

Funny, I was just thinking this am as I was making my morning cuppa, "Where are our guys? Where are the guys plotting and fighting in the shadows to save capitalism? Where is that guy with the top hat and big cigar?"

Maybe....maybe.

He’s just tired of the job already. It’s not nearly as much fun as he thought it would be. Not sarcasm. I am sadly serious.

Yep, that's the explanation that seems most likely to me. If it was drugs, a babe or babeman, a "secret meeting," an Islam-related rendezvous, or even to go choke a weed (as in "have a smoke"), he could easily do them at the WH. This smells to me like whimsey.

You're kidding, right? First of all, that you believe the spiel ("Hey, it'll resonate with the soccer moms"), and second, that you think it's right and proper of the President of the United States to put his kid's soccer game above national interest and incidentally, endanger every other attendee and all the kids? This isn't Dr. Laura, this is real life. If a kid is scarred for life because busy Pop who happens to be Pres missed four years' worth of soccer games, then that kid's an idiot.

Somebody has their price and will write something after leaving the White House, realizing it is a sinking ship. In fact, I would love to get a take, a gut-level sense, of all the White House resumes from WH interns and fellows GOING OUT these days, as oppposed to the flood of resumes COMING IN a little over a year ago. That would be very, very telling. Young people have a) a certain lack of loyalty to corporate or organizational sinking ships; and b) a certain sensitivity and savvy as to exactly whether THEY THEMSELVES are on such a sinking ship.

I wonder if Kal Penn (Kalpen Modi) will talk. He wasn't an intern or fellow, though, he was associate director of the "Office of Public Engagement." He just left after nine months on the job.

He is going to go Nixon on us, just watch.

You're right! An interesting thing is that this past election, even if it hadn't been Obama, but Hillary had landed the presidency or if McCain had landed it, either one -- the occupant would have had a meltdown, "gone Nixon," pulled a Queeg, caught fire and blown up. Personally, I think Hillary would have been the most fun to watch.

Someone JUST name the price, oh, he'll talk.

These people all have their prices. When you dont have morals or principals as is inherent with the Obama-ites, you can be bought very cheaply.

They did not care about this Obama character so much as they did to go to Washington in this big magnet of national mass hysteria thinking selfishly it would advance their careers. Now look at them a year later with the nation awash in COUNTER REVOLUTION in a sea of yellow and black flags, and it has become apparant the Emperor has no clothes and only a teleprompter.

Like sad, shivering rats on a sinking ship. Damned if they do and damned if they dont. Leaving is jumping in the water without a flotation device (in this economy), and staying at the White House is only lengthening the amount of time it will appear on one's CV and also one is on the USS Titanic. What can these people do?? If I were them I would just leave the country, consider it a mistake, and enroll as a quiet foreign grad student in some place like Bolivia or Senegal for a few years.

The Pentagon knows.

Because wherever Patrice Lumumba Obongo goes, THIS must necessary follow.

Somebody over THERE probably has a price (in post retirement mode). And of course, no love lost between The "G+d D*amn America!" Community Organizer and the Armed Forces of the United States of America. It'll leak one of these days.

A LOT is going to leak. Right now people are holding their tongues, but they are no doubt writing copious notes in journals and storing them at home offline. That's what this sonofabitch imposter deserves--a can of state's evidence opened up on his Administration by somebody credible, patriotic and in the know.

That's maybe a job for Andrew Breitbart, conducted over Westside Liberal cocktails at Circa 55 at the Beverly Hilton. Maybe someone should "heads up" Andrew on this and ask him to go into enemy territory? Could be very delicious information.

People, really GOOD people, our fellow Americans, who:

a) Read Free Republic

b) Are reading this specific thread (or others like it, such as the Salahi Security Breach at the White House with Prime Minister Singh a potential target)

c) Know the truth

d) Are being told to lie

e) Love their country

....know what to do and hear their inner moral voice. It's not just about this little ditch the press-soccer Saturday incident, there is a lot more going on that is not only scandalous, but outright unconstitutional as well as within the realm of violation of national security.

Later that day he left again to play golf. How does he have the time to play golf and sneak out to watch a “soccer” game? I have a “regular’ job and damn if I have the time to play golf!

Perhaps he finally changed the Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian, with the help of his able henchmen, McCain, Palin the Australian, and Rahm.

Hmmmm....perhaps there’s trouble in Camelot? Perhaps zero isn’t hitting it off so well with the press these days? Maybe he’s mad at them because they keep publishing all these troublesome polls.

Maybe he just stepped out for a smoke or two and a few cocktails.

I agree. His irritation at the day to day routine is evident with his ‘put upon’ attitude when he actually has to do some work. For someone who’s never actually worked before, who here is surprised?
