Report: Attack on Jindal Aide and Boyfriend Politically Motivated (Beaten for wearing Palin buttons)

Joe Brown and Allee Bautsch

Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.

Bautch's leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.

The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:

Two people at the Brennan’s event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say “Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on” – so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.

The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.

Thanks for the more in-depth report....

No one seems to be covering the story nationally....not even MSFoxNews (they pretty much in the bag for Obama now....just ridicules Birthers and only puts on RINOS).

Obviously this was some type of assault and battery...

I even carry in church. Do you have any idea how many church shootings there are every year?

I can go you one better on that. MY Pastor is disabled and in a wheelchair. He not only welcomes my ccw in church, he took my class (I'm an NRA Instructor with 20+ years of experience) and another board where I post got together online and bought him a gun. Had it sent to my FFL and did the lawful transfer from there. I chipped in and bought him a set of CT Lasergrips and made certain they were zeroed at 80 feet which is the exact distance from his raised podium to the entrance of the sanctuary. Any active shooter in this "flock" is going to be met from the pulpit with 125gr SJHP 357 magnums fired by the Shepherd. As the loyal sheepdog, I'll be backing him up.

SEIU thugs... and their President Andrew Stern abruptly resigns yesterday.. and 0 accidentally left the press corps at the WH.

If this is going down memory hole, everybody at every Tea Party this week needs to print a PALIN label for their nose, jaw and leg.

Force coverage.

I worked on St. Charles just below Lee Circle. That was a ways from the Quarter. There was a stabbing right in front of our building once. Came to work in the morning and the sidewalk looked like a slaughterhouse floor.

"When I had my S&W mod 60, I carried it with hand loaded inverted wadcutters."

The wadcutter is actually a good defensive round, especially when used in a snubby where you might not achieve enough velocity to mushroom a hollowpoint. Nice big meplat.

I'm always amazed at how accurate the HBWC (hollow base wad cutter) is, aerodynamic as a soup can. They do become much less accurate when loaded bass ackward and may open up a bit more but I wouldn't feel unarmed if that's what I had.

Exact same set up here — my .45 eats that ammo like there’s no tomorrow. Smooth as silk.

I’m sorry I sent them a nickel after Katrina.

These thugs of New Orleans would be wise to remember Ninevah. Prayers up for this couple, beaten by the jackbooted political bigots.

That incident is why one should always keep a pocket knife or rat tail comb if you can’t or do not want to carry a gun. And be prepared and willing to use it.

What a cute couple! They must be conservatives, they look happy and attractive. :-) Prayers for their speedy recovery.

Just sickening; a revolting tragedy. I feel so badly for that couple. Have the thugs been arrested yet? Haven’t heard. I hope they heal emotionally and physically as soon as possible. What kind of punk would go after anyone wearing a political button? Lots of stupid out there.

It has to be vetted through at least 4 eye witnesses and at least one must work for the NY Times and one must be named Cokie Roberts in order for this to be deemed possibly credible.(It also must be videotaped by a Reuters camera team with the Rachel Corrie accreditation stamp of approval)
