Smearing the Tea Party: Dissent is the highest form of patriotism
The Washington Times ^ | April 23, 2010 | Jeffrey T. Kuhner

Liberals are portraying the Tea Party movement as fostering violence and sedition. During a recent appearance on NBC's "The Chris Matthews Show," Time columnist Joe Klein said that much of the heated political rhetoric, "especially the [statements] coming from people like Glenn Beck and to a certain extent Sarah Palin, rub right up close to being seditious."

Of course, sedition is a crime. It is the revolt or inciting of revolt against the authority of the government. Mr. Klein's message was clear: Conservative critics of President Obama are committing treason, especially the Tea Partiers who express their disapproval through rallies and protests.

Not to be outdone, former President Bill Clinton seized on the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing to compare Tea Party participants to potential Timothy McVeighs.

"Have at it, go fight, go do whatever you want," Mr. Clinton said in a speech. "You don't have to be nice; you can be harsh. But you've got to be very careful not to advocate violence or cross the line."

In an Op-Ed column in the New York Times, he wrote: "There is a big difference between criticizing a policy or a politician and demonizing the government."

The comments from Mr. Klein and Mr. Clinton are disconnected from reality. The men are either ignoramuses or cheap propagandists, deliberately smearing Tea Party activists. The Tea Party movement has been peaceful and law-abiding. It is a public manifestation of anger at Mr. Obama's unprecedented expansion of government power. This legal, nonviolent freedom of association is as American as mom and apple pie.

The charges against Tea Partiers are not only false, but brazenly hypocritical. During the presidency of George W. Bush, the left's mantra was "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." Apparently, that only applies when a Republican occupies the White_House.(continued)

Not to be outdone, former President Bill Clinton seized upon the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing to compare Tea Party participants to potential Tim McVeighs.

The fact of the matter is that the Clinton Administration, with the aid of its friends in the MSM, have covered up to this day the crux of the Oklahoma City bombing plot. It was masterminded by Islamic terrorists from the Middle East with likely connections to Al Qaeda! McVeigh and Nichols, the only two people to be prosecuted by the Clinton DOJ in connection with the bombing, were merely treasonous operatives at the bottom of the conspiracy chain, while the Islamists were not even mentioned by official sources. (See Jayna Davis' remarkable book, The Third Terrorist: The Middle East Connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing, published by WND Books, 2004.)

So in covering up the Middle East involvement in Oklahoma City, the Clintonoids and their pals are whitewashing a major national security lapse under their watch - and have continued to do so for 15 years! Much more convenient to blame the whole thing on a pair of isolated "right wing extremists" than to get into the much bigger problem of Islamic terrorism and the failure of the Clinton Administration to adequately deal with it.

Cue SHRILLERY [note: turn the volume down]

I hope the more internet savvy Freepers can help me out.
I prefer to download some YouTube videos to my hard drive, to share with family and friends but,

I have been unable to use "SaveYouTube.com" for about 6 weeks.
Similarly, I have been unable to install and use "Downloader9.com" to save YouTube videos.
I use IE7.

Can anyone help with "Saving YouTube for Dummies?"

On the Tax Day Tea Party Rally in Grand Prairie Texas, I took video camera in hand and interviewed attendees. I did this knowing it would counter the media misrepresentaion of the Tea Partiers.

PLEASE FORWARD these links to anyone who has been lied to by the media and politicians about the Tea Party Movement, which of course is everybody.

So now anyone right wing is to be compared to the Oklahoma City Bombers? OK. Let’s start comparing George Will, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin and even the National Review. Yes, let’s go one step further. All Freepers are like the Oklahoma City Bomber. So let’s round ‘em up, but first let’s wait ‘til they burn down the Capitol, so the President can get some emergency powers to deal with their menace.

Yep, that's the meme that the condescending 'Rats would want their lackeys to believe. I don't think that it will go over that well with the general population.

BTW, aside from the Tea Partiers, the big target of the WH and their friends the last week or so has been Wall Street bankers, especially Goldman Sachs. Again, obvious hypocrisy: Goldman Sachs execs and employees gave more to the Obama campaign in '08 than any other corporation! And now, O's SEC is suing them, while their CEO continues to be a frequent guest in the Obama White House. Kind of like Goldman Sachs is willfully allowing themselves to be used as a public scapegoat by their friends, while they know they'll eventually make out like bandits via the Obama "financial reform" legislation.

Exactly. Transparent as glass. Beware of corporate fat cats who want to “redistribute wealth”. They are not acting against their own interests, only those of their would-be competitors.

You hit the nail on the head!

Aside from Goldman Sachs, another corporate giant that is extremely cozy with the Obama government - and has contributed huge sums to the 'Rats, naturally enough - is General Electric. Since it owns NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC, it controls the pro-'Rat message that viewers receive over those outlets from the likes of Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and Rachel Maddow.

An excellent little book on the incestuous relationship between the Obama administration and (some) Big Business is Obamanomics, by Timothy P. Carney, published by Regnery.
