Before we get too giddy over the administration’s recent bolt-from-the-blue discovery that there are terrorists all over the place who want to kill us all, Col. Ralph Peters gives us the likely, and not exactly comforting explanation:
Something big is happening. Big enough to alarm the White House. So big that the administration did an abrupt about-face regarding terrorism.
Terrorism’s serious now — driving major policy reversals. The administration just won’t tell us why.
Inefficient Times Square bomber, Faizal Shahzad quickly went from being the subprime mortgage bomber, to lone wolf McVeigh bomber to an actual Islamoterrorist bomber. The administration and fossil media were adamant that Shahzad was too lacking in “trade craft” to be a card carrying member of al Qaeda Local 1026.
Then wham! Over the weekend, the Obama administration unleashed a reverse-course media offensive — deploying Attorney General Eric Holder, terror czar John Brennan, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and plentiful back-channel messages from staffers.
Instead of Shahzad being a one-off, Brennan tied him to the Pakistani Taliban and stressed to TV viewers that there are dangers we’re ‘taking very seriously.’
While the administration was crowing about how Shahzad was singing like a canary without a single waterboarding, Eric Holder suddenly decided Miranda rights for barbarians trying to slaughter tens of thousands of innocents may not always have to be the administration’s highest priority.

Let’s link unrelated items. The sudden push to recognize terrorism as a danger, the likelihood of getting a SCOTUS justice considering federal censorship of text and internet sources, and the recent news that Obama and an advisor are playing around with a federal truth office, to control wild untrue ‘net myths.
It all might be related to the TAPI pipeline. The Taliban has been opposed to the project since the eighties when Bush’s father broached it to them. THe pipeline must be started before the end of this year for NATO and the 4 primary country partners to stay involved. Also, a secondary pipeline involving the Pak port of Gadawar is involved with the state of Baluchistan.
To control the Taliban, Obama must expand into Pakistan with NATO all the way to the port. He needs the US terrorist/PAK Taliban connection to lever his way further into Pakistan.

The “something big” is being planned by someone outside and the administration is getting itself positioned to deflect blame. Or: the “something big” is being planned by them, and they’re trying to deflect our attention from it.

The first, which the YouTube page titled “Hakeemullah Mehsud is Alive and Healthy and Delivering news about Attacks on USA,” is 2:17 long, and shows a still satellite image of North America with a still image of Hakimullah Mehsud. Speaking in Urdu, he states that the date is April 19, 2010 and threatens bombings in U.S. “states & cities”; as he speaks, explosions are shown taking place across the map.

The second video, which the YouTube page also titled “Hakeemullah Mehsud is Alive and Healthy and Delivering news about Attacks on USA,” is 8:42 minutes long, and shows Hakimullah Mehsud sitting surrounded by masked, armed men. Commander of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid on Beitullah Mehsud: “I Myself Heard Him Say: ‘I Want to Shatter the Americans’ Pride and Arrogance and Strike Them On Their Own Soil’”
The Taliban leaders’ declarations come against the backdrop of an early October 2009 video which revealed that the Taliban leaders had begun formulating intentions to target the U.S. sometime last year. In an eight-minute video posted on jihadist websites on October 1, 2009, Al-Qaeda commander Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid revealed that Beitullah Mehsud, Hakimullah Mehsud’s predecessor, had wanted to launch attacks inside the U.S.[2]
In his eulogy for Beitullah Mehsud, who was killed in a U.S. drone attack on August 5, 2009, Abu Al-Yazid observed:”The Emir Beitullah was a student of shari’a studies, one of those who began their lives in shari’a studies, and he made great progress in this. But when the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan arose and was in need of people to support it, back it, and stand against the enemies lying in wait for it in northern Afghanistan, he joined the ranks of the Emirate’s mujahideen early on, under the command of the Commander of the Faithful Mullah Muhammad Omar, may Allah protect him.
“The Emir Beitullah was a man of great aspirations and far-reaching ambitions. He undertook to educate and prepare his tribesmen to fight the enemies of Allah in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He even aspired to send his mujahideen soldiers to fight against the infidels on their own soil. I myself heard him say: ‘I want to shatter the Americans’ pride and arrogance and strike them on their own soil.’”
