Pelosi Says Nationalizing election won't work for repubs (which means it will)

Bring it on, says Nancy Pelosi, dismissing GOP election hopes By Bob Cusack and Jared Allen – 05/19/10 08:47 PM ET

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a message for Republicans this fall: Bring it on.

A buoyant Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday basked in the Democrats’ special-election triumph while bashing Republicans and expressing confidence that her party will retain control of the House.

In an interview with The Hill, the Speaker said it was very important to her that Democrats retain the late Rep. John Murtha’s (D-Pa.) seat, which they did Tuesday night.

Pelosi, who was very close with Murtha, said Republicans once again tried to nationalize an election by way of an “anti-Obama, anti-Pelosi” message.

“It didn’t work,” Pelosi said, calling the strategy Republicans have employed regularly in recent years “predictable.”

Asked about House Minority Leader John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) recent claim that there are 100 House seats in play, Pelosi responded, “Let him think that.”

She said there are “more than 200” House Democrats who will be reelected “easily,” but cautioned that she never underestimates her opponents.

Pelosi is clearly happy and relieved that former Murtha aide Mark Critz will replace his old boss. Throughout The Hill’s interview, Pelosi laughed, cracked some jokes and even teased her questioners.

IMO I think the perfect Reopublican national election commercial would go something like this

The majority of Americans opposed the trillion dollar Obamacare bill, but the democrats and Obama still pushed it down your throats any way

the democrats and Obama have run up the largest yearly deficits in history putting America on the fast track to financial ruin and indefinite 10% unemployment

The majority of Americans opposed illegal immigration, Yet when the president of Mexico came to America to denounce efforts to deal with illegals the democrats and Obama gave him a standing Ovation. (run clip of mexican [president)

The democrats and Obama have been ruling against the majority of the country, its time to put a stop to it, let your voice be heard, vote republican in November 2010

Just think back to the ‘nationalized’ 1994 election in which the GOP were drubbed.

Oh wait....

It will work as long as the republicans don’t ignore the wishes of the people in the individual districts. (forcing unwanted candidates to the lead)

Does the guy who replaced Murtha have to re-run for the office again in November?

House members only have 2 year terms, so is this just an 8 month fill-in so that votes for Pennsylvaniz are in the mix?

Need clrification here, please. Discussion at this end doesn’t have an answer.

The only reason it "didn't work" was that Critz, the Democrat, ran as far to the right as he could and there was no voting record to prove him a liar.

But that seat is back up for grabs in a few months, and Critz either has to back up his alleged "right of Nancy and Obama" stance and fight against their agenda, or do everything Pelosi tells him to do.

If he chooses the former, he'll have to win on his own, with no real help from Obama and the national Democratic Party. If he chooses the latter, he'll lose because he's a scum-sucking liar and his opponent will be able to remind the voters of it all day long.

It’s a short term replacement; there will be a rematch for Murtha’s seat in eight months.

And, how important were MA, VA, DE, an NJ?

Yes it did! The Democrat who won ran as anti-ObamaCare.

Hey, Pelosi, the guy run against 0bamacare, against cap and trade, against virtually everything that 0bama/Pelosi/Reid stand for. Let's see the other over 220 Democratic Party congressmen who voted FOR 0bamcare, cap and trade, etc run that way..if they can. They can't.

Mark Critz (D) will finish out Murtha's term, serving until January 2011. But Critz and Tim Burns (R), besting opponents on Tuesday in party primaries, will face each other again in November 2010 for a full two-year term.

Careful! I fear that some overconfidence is clouding the real fact that the communists machine of King Obama with all the powerful outside sources such as the MSM will make it very hard to overthrow these corrupt criminals that have taken over America.

Personally, this worries me. She knows a lot about their scheming cheating hearts we don’t know. I remember when she crowed that healthcare would pass when it didn’t look like it had an outside chance.

We need someone on the inside to know what these crooks are up to.
