HARTFORD, Conn. – Criticized for saying he "regrets" misstatements he made about his military service during the Vietnam War, Connecticut Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal is now apologizing.

On Monday and late the night before, the Democrat told various media outlets that he made mistakes and is sorry for them.

"I think he wants to put this behind him. He wants to start getting back to talking about the issues that matter most to the people of Connecticut and start talking about who is going to best represent the people of Connecticut in Washington," said Maura Downes, a campaign spokeswoman.

The state's commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., Richard G. DiFederico, had issued a statement Friday demanding an apology from Blumenthal.

Clinton took this ‘parsing’ to unheard of heights. Its been refined and adapted by Obama who never ever will be told what he said without taking the opportunity to rephrase the statement. We have Barney Frank who apparently never ever claimed all that housing that was sold to people that couldn’t afford it was a good thing. Now we have this loser Blumenthal.
I’ll say this. I could never ever deny what i know i said. These guys of course deny whats on tape which takes a nerve i’ll never have. These pols are without a doubt the biggest weasels walking the planet without a shred of honor for if they indeed had anything resembling honor they would admit their words without having to tell you how you’re taking them out of context or they misspoke. Washington DC. Land of the perpetual do over.

Sorry, I did not mean to omit all of the Veterans of the other services who served honorably in Vietnam. Blumenthal has tried to steal some of the valor that YOU EARNED by your service, too.

It just hurts a Marine to see a few scumbags like Murtha & Blumenthal bring dishonor on the Corps.

Semper Fidelis means something! It does not include lying about your service.

I was listening to a VN Veteran, triple purple heart recipient in a wheel chair who had a few comments about this guy. It wasn’t about wanting an apology.

These lies are not forgivable. The lie was told in the first place to give Blumenthal an advantage over his political rivals. He was cheating and putting himself in a place of honor to which he knew he had no right and it was done to the detriment to his opponents and the electorate. This is more than lying, it is committing fraud on the public and showing no respect for the election process. This slug is a lawyer and the state attorney general. He knew what he was doing, saying and he knew it gave him an unfair advantage. He is beyond contempt.

You both responded to posts of mine in different threads, but the issue was the same...unrepentant lying by liberals.

Check out this list of the characteristics of a sociopath...

Here is a list of ways to identify a sociopath. This list is from "Profile of a Sociopath". Is is a pretty good list of sociopathic indicators.

•Glibness/Superficial Charm

•Manipulative and Conning

•Grandiose Sense of Self

•Pathological Lying

•Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt

•Shallow Emotions

•Incapacity for Love

•Need for Stimulation

•Callousness/Lack of Empathy

•Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature

•Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency

•Irresponsibility/Unreliability

•Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity

•Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle

•Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility

•Contemptuous of those who seek to understand them

•Does not perceive that anything is wrong with them

•Authoritarian

•Secretive

•Paranoid

•Only rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admired

•Conventional appearance

•Goal of enslavement of their victim(s)

•Exercises despotic control over every aspect of the victim's life

•Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim's affirmation (respect, gratitude and love)

•Ultimate goal is the creation of a willing victim

•Incapable of real human attachment to another

•Unable to feel remorse or guilt

•Narcissism, grandiosity (self-importance not based on achievements)

•May state readily that their goal is to rule the world

Not all of these traits will show up in every sociopath...but it's amazing how many of them apply to a good number of leading democrats!
