CA Senate Race: Fiorina Up Big? (Hints Fiorina Rocketing FTW)
Weekly Standard ^ | May 24, 2010 | Daniel Halper

Can this be for real? From Carly Fiorina's Twitter feed:

@CarlyforCA Breaking news: Fiorina 46%, Campbell 23%, DeVore 14% according to new Survey USA poll. Proof that hard work pays off!

This, I'm told by the Fiorina campaign, was just reported on television on L.A. The last SurveyUSA poll showed Fiorina trailing Campbell 35% to 24%, with DeVore in third at 15%. So, if true, this new poll would represent a huge swing--such a huge swing that I'm curious to see the actual poll.

Your response regarding Fiorina illustrates exactly what the Boxer campaign against her will involve.

I’ve debated a few FReepers here about the incompetence of Sarah Palin meddling in our primary. They seemed to buy in somehow that Fiorina would be the strongest candidate against Boxer. Nothing could be further from the truth. Fiorina is the weakest of the 3 in a head to head agAinst Boxer. Why don’t Republicans ever get it, that being a job killing corporate CEO is NOT an asset in any election, especially one in the height of a deep recession and record unemployment.

Fiorina is exactly the kind of candidate Boxer wants to run against. Fiorina’s background is the one lifeline Boxer has to change the subject to one that is favorable to Boxer. Fiorina’s job killing tenure at HP is just the distraction Boxer needs to keep her own job.

I feel the same way that you do, why are California republicans rejecting the true conservative in the race?
Because that Queen of Competence, Sarah "Pied Piper" Palin told them to!

Gotta agree with you on all that.
Not that it makes much difference since I don't live in California and can't vote there, but Campbell will be a nightmare for conservatives. He's gotta be stopped.

Why not qualified men OR women?

I look at the individual’s bonafides to see which candidate is best.

But since you brought it up, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman and Gov. of AZ Jan Brewer are saying and doing things that you see only a few men (OK Sen. Imhofe, SC Sen. DeMint) willing to say and do.

I welcome a man OR woman with guts in these times.

DeVore’s support has imploded, repeat , imploded.

All California conservative Republicans MUST coalesce and get behine Carly Fiorina. DeVore is not a viable candidate. and votes for him are a vote for Tom Campbell and Barbara Boxer.

For the record, Chuck DeVore has nose-dived to 14 percent support.

Please tell all of your friends to support Carly.

Sarah Palin really delivered for Carly . . oh my!

“Fiorina 46%, Campbell 23%, DeVore 14%”

I’d prefer Devore over any of ‘em but if he can’t win, go iCarly.

> So once again Palin’s hard work pays off—putting as much conservative bread on the table as could be hoped for statewide in CA.

We could have had a FULL LOAF had Palin endorsed DeVore.

“why are California republicans rejecting the true conservative in the race?”

Seriously? This isn’t Texas we’re talking about here. It’s one of the bluest of blue states. This shouldn’t surprise anyone.

As everyone should have found out with Scott Brown. Supporting a Rhino is no different than supporting a democrat. Conservatives should refuse to vote for a Rhino no matter what. Stand on principles. It might not change anything this time, but hopefully there is a next time.

Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List.

She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty.

She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries.

Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners.

She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence.

She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.

- Sarah Palin

Boxer is in deep, deep trouble.

People don’t like her.

Incompetence? Fiorina’s incompetence at HP pales into nothing WHEN COMPARED TO BOXER’S SENATE RECORD.

I don’t argue that CF is best against Boxer. Irrelevant question IMV.

Campbell MUST be defeated. Then, IF DeVore cannot win, it’s on him. Not on us or California Repubs, but HIM.

Leaving CF or Babs...

Since Campbell is running ahead of DeVore, would you have us vote for Campbell instead?

Why do you always dicount the damage Tom Campbell has done?

DeVore has always been a pipe dream as he's always polled dead last...

Unfortunately, we didn't, but the “men” in the establishment fGOP are such eunuchs that these women - even the RINOish ones - are turning out to be our stonger horses. It's also cultural: Strong conservative men are susceptible to the "sexist" attack. Given the dumbed-down and debased state of our "culture" (thanks, NEA!), that sadly works with far too many idiot voters. Hard to do the same to conservative women, alhough the donk-owned LSM tries.

And then there's the truly stong conservative women: Palin, Bachmann, et al. I'm all for that!

Fiorina’s job killing tenure at HP is just the distraction Boxer needs to keep her own job.

Fiorina’s “job killing” at HP will let Boxer keep her job?
Ok then.
So how about Boxer's job killing porkulus vote which put us into debt by a massive $1 Trillion, and ended up driving unemployment to 9.9%?
Look, whatever Firiona may have, or not done at HP, pales into insignificance as compared to the total train wreck the the 0bama/Pelsi/Redid/Boxer regime have visited upon this country in the last 16 months.
You think Fiorina is going to sit idly by and let Boxer get away with ads about “job killing” a HP, without hitting Boxer right between the eyes with some nasty attack ads over porkulus, 0banmcare and cap and trade?

> Where the flaming incompetent, US-worker hating Carly FioRINO falls in there, I’m not sure.

So much this. To think that I could be pulling the lever for her or it’s Boxer again makes me throw up in my mouth. A lot.

For the record, the people that know her work best in Silicon Valley (yes, including Rock Ribbed Conservatives) hate... yes, HAAAATE FIORINO. Read it and weep for California:

Too bad Fiorina is a RINO!

Yeah, lets teach those RINOs a lesson and reelect Boxer by nominating a republican that doesn't have a chance. /s
