Justice Department antitrust chief Christine Varney said Monday that vigorous enforcement of anti-monopoly laws is essential to the success of the new health care law, particularly when it comes to reining in premiums. Big insurers have been getting bigger, and in many states one or two large carriers dominate the market.

I’m wondering if this country can survive another 2 1/2 years of these dictators. It seems as though obammy is following his hero Chavez in Venezuela. Chavez has destroyed that country.

Exactly. This has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with anything positive or negative for patients and consumers.

It has EVERYTHING to do with making sure insurance providers are unable to pursue any course that will make them more viable.

Thanks Nachum.
The Obama administration is warning the health insurance industry that it will block mergers that threaten to stifle competition.
Let's start with the federal gov't merger with Soros, Goldman-Sachs, General Motors...

He also promished no rationing, BUT....

“Obama’s Nominee to Run Medicare: ‘The Decision is Not Whether or Not We Will Ration Care—The Decision is Whether We Will Ration Care With Our Eyes Open’

Monday, May 24, 2010
By Fred Lucas, Staff Writer

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama’s nominee to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which runs Medicare, is a strong supporter of the government-run health care system in Britain, who said in a 2009 interview about Comparative Effectiveness Research: “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care—the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.”

Donald Berwick, a professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and the head of the non-profit Institute for Healthcare Improvement, was nominated by Obama on April 19, 2010.

In choosing Berwick, the Obama administration is implicitly admitting that the health care law passed by the Democrats in March will lead to the rationing of health care, said Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) in a May 19 press release.

It doesn’t look good for senior citizens and the very sick of all ages.

Hopefully the Republicans will defund Obamacare when they take over the House.

your’re on target, if enough small companies unite to control cost it will interfer with the government takeover of the health care business. Smart move by obama, divide and destroy!!!!
