House Votes to Repeal Military Gay Ban

The House has voted to repeal the 1993 law known as "don't ask, don't tell" and allow gays to serve openly in the military.
The House vote Thursday came several hours after the Senate Armed Services Committee took the same course and approved a measure repealing the policy that prohibits service by gays who openly acknowledge their sexual orientation.
The committee voted 16-12 to repeal the 1993 law known as "don't ask, don't tell." Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, was the only Republican to vote in favor of repeal while Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., was the only Democrat to vote against the initiative that was attached to a $760 billion defense spending bill.
The House was a victory for President Barack Obama, who has pushed for a change in military policy, and for gay rights group who have made an end to "don't ask, don't tell" their top legislative priority.
Republicans voted overwhelmingly against lifting the ban, saying Congress should wait until the Pentagon completes a review of the impact of a repeal on military life and readiness.

RE :”
Its the HOUSE COMMITTEE, not the House. The committee is stacked with marxists. I doubt this passes the House.”
FNC (during Greta) just made it sound like the entire ‘house’ passed it. Guess it sounds more newsworthy.
But today on the MSNBC Ed Show one of his regulars said that while she supports the idea, it is a huge political mistake to make democrats vote on this issue in this tough election year with the opposition. This is all about 2012.

Another Obama-orchestrated “rush” effort.. This would be a great time for an “OIL” press conference as a diversion.. It makes NO sense to vote on anything until the Pentagon completes it’s impact study in December, but then again, Obama could give a “F” what the Pentagon wants.
I feel bad for those soldiers of ours who are REAL MEN now faced with an enemy who wants to kill their effeminate azzes TWICE as bad. Thanks for another brilliant move, Obama.
Watch for volunteer enlistments to PLUMMET, except for the gay guys who want to join those “looking for a few good girly-men”.
Obama’s at it again.. Turning this country upside down.. Angering MANY to please the FEW. At every turn, minority opinion rules!

What this means is that now you’ll have gays running around base participating in activity that would get any hetersexual kicked out - and there’s nothing that anyone can do about it, because they’re a protected group.

Jeeze, they got ‘don't ask don't tell’ 17 years ago. Openly promoting their homo-sexual desires in the military sounds like a disaster to me. People are stupid.

There is not a strong enough word in the English language to describe the level of animosity I hold for Ms. Collins... and every last seditious Democrat working to corrupt this country. I say the following with absolute conviction, and not an ounce of regret: I desire that every last one of them be dammed, and rots for all eternity in Hell!
I pray the military will finally say “enough,” rise up and annihilate these bastards. They should all be hung.

If this is “committee” and not the HOUSE then FOX has blundered BIG TIME. Earlier I heard “Senate Armed Services Committee”.. Do I care anymore? Hell no. It’s curtains for this country anyway.

Hey Chaplain,
Knowing that you are now retired, would you even be able to serve in that capacity if this monstrosity becomes law?
Based on your experience, would your superiors force you to censor out those certain parts of the Scriptures, as they would not be in compliance with federal law?
Just curious.
Thanks.

Yes, the idiot Susan Collins votes like a PC woman while Jim Webb, a man who served, votes like a man who served.

This was a vote for an amendment to the defense spending bill. There is still one last chance to flush to this t*rd, but that will require the majority in the House to refuse to pass the spending bill as long as the amendment is part of it.
Obama, Reid, and Pelosi have now insulted the dead at Arlington and stuck their collective middle finger at the brave and still living serving from Twenty-Nine Palms to Afghanistan.

They will not be “protected” on the battle field.
