On April 27, 2010, I got a job with the United States Census Bureau in New Jersey. With a hidden camera, I caught four Census supervisors encouraging enumerators to falsify information on their time sheets. Over the course of two days of training, I was paid for four hours of work I never did. I was told to take a 70 minute lunch break, was given an hour of travel time to drive 10 minutes, and was told to leave work at 3:30pm. I resigned prior to doing any data collection but confronted Census supervisors who assured me, no one is going to be auditing that that level, and nobody is going to be questioning it except for you. Another Census supervisor only said hed adjust my pay after I gave him a letter recanting my hours.
As to whether this is an isolated incident or if there are more Census videos showing more waste, fraud, and corruption, well let you take a wild guess.
America, real journalism has been dead for a long time now. With $1500 Hannah Giles and I were able to break a story that the New York Times couldnt have broken no matter how many times they mortgaged their building. The government took our camera, so I bought another. The government put us in jail and deleted our tapes, but we got out and well just make more. My travel was restricted to the state of New Jersey, so thats where I got back to work. The media establishment is busy doing character assassinations on my friends and me but time and truth is on our side.

I'm not sure Rosa Parks did quite the same thing.
And no, I usually don't decide what laws I will follow and which I won't.
What crime was he "expressly intending to commit"?
People who enter dwellings with the same intent are legally able to be shot and killed in many states.
Other than entering the building under false pretenses, what crime was he committing?
I'm not sure Rosa Parks did quite the same thing.
It was a crime for a black person to sit in the front of the bus. Rosa Parks entered that bus with the intention of sitting in the front. Should the bus driver have shot her under the Castle doctrine?
And no, I usually don't decide what laws I will follow and which I won't.
So if they passed a law which made it a crime to say anything negative about Obama, would you obey it? Would you just follow the sheeple down the road to tyranny?
In my state, at least, burglary is defined as entering a dwelling with the intent of committing a 'crime' which is defined as a misdemeanor or felony.
If he did this in NYS, he could have been charged with burglary.
Surely I've heard excuses like this before?
"Don't worry, It's only a cold sore."
Way to go, fraud by the obozo administration will be a good part of the money spent from the stimulus. Example the Medicare fraud the US expects fraud to happen at about 6 million dollars a year. This government views 6 million dollars as pocket change. Wonder how much money does Obozo views as really an expenditure. He never has run a company. He views the US Treasury as an ATM.
Oh, please!
I find your arguments on this thread to be entirely inconsistent with all the statements from the founders that you have on your forum page.
How do you reconcile your attitude towards James O'Keefe and your attitude that there is apparently no law on the books in this nation that you would not be willing to disobey in the cause of liberty with statements like these from your forum page:
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. - Samuel Adams 1776.
Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it. - John Adams
Our founders broke some serious laws in the cause of Liberty. You, however, are not willing to even get a parking ticket in the cause of Liberty.
Take those quotes off your home page. You obviously don't believe in them.
Your entire state is run by lawbreakers. Been on them about it?
When's he gonna put the cuffs on them?
IMHO, this kid is a grand-stander who is off the charts in the "look at me!" category. Please do not compare his cause to the Founders cause.
I was at a Mississippi DOT office a couple of weeks ago. When I got there, there were 3 or 4 people sitting around reading newspapers and drinking coffee. When I left 2 hours later, the same guys were sitting in the same chairs.
What’s the difference? A huge number of government employees don’t earn their paychecks and everyone knows it. Hell, you could lay off a full 50% of all government employees and never notice.
So, how much time did your former governor Eliot Spitzer get in the slammer for much more serious offenses?
Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?
**crickets**
“This kid might want to go after bigger fish.”
Not sure what “bigger fish” you might be referring to but the Census Bureau is a HUGE fish. The census determines how many Members of Congress represent a given state, how much federal money is paid back to local jurisdictions, to schools, for transportation, and on and on and on. It is the baseline from which most federal spending is factored, as it were.
You don’t think it was just pure coincidence that for the first time the Census Bureau’s responsibilities were transferred from the Commerce Dept to the White House? Or that because of the highly questionable transfer, Sen. Judd declined to serve as Secy of Commerce?
You don’t think that millions upon millions are spent, particularly in minority neighborhoods, to assure that census forms are completed and sent in ?
I don’t know what your idea of a “big fish” IS, but the Census Bureau is surely one of them, and its corruption under this Administration absolutely should be publicized.
Maybe ‘this kid’ knows more than certain FReepers.
I've seen this reference a few times now. What does it mean?
I'm a 2010 Decennial Census temp, and my checks, ID & paperwork come from the Department of Commerce.
We get travel time for my job. We get at least 45 minutes even if it is a 5 minute drive. It's in the contract. It's probably in the Census contract too.
It's not against the law to get paid for work you don't think you did. If it's contractual, that's just the way it is.
The actual DECISION MAKING (i.e, fixing) is done thru the White House, apparently Emmanuel. They maintain the DoC affiliation for ‘lesser’ things than the power wielded by how the census is conducted and analyzed.
It’s still a waste of our tax money, and therefore, corrupt.
Cute, but not on point. There were no instructions from the top to do what they did. You encounter that same carp in the private sector.
Do you really think this is a legitimate government, whereby a young man intent on exposing corruption in our government is harassed by said government and persecuted? Maybe you had better re-think what reality is instead of putting down American heroes so smugly when you really do not have a clue as to what is going on. Mr. O’Keefe is suffering the wrath of tyrants and you want to legitimize it.
Thanks for the added info. I was aware of the Judd situation, but wasn’t aware of the other info. I shall do some research, and make inquiries.
