The Coming Resignation of Barack Obama
http://spectator.org/archives/2010/06/02/the-coming-resignation-of-bara/print ^ | 02 june 10 | Peter Ferrara

Months ago, I predicted in this column that President Obama would so discredit himself in office that he wouldn't even be on the ballot in 2012, let alone have a prayer of being reelected. Like President Johnson in 1968, who had won a much bigger victory four years previously than Obama did in 2008, President Obama will be so politically defunct by 2012 that he won't even try to run for reelection.

I am now ready to predict that President Obama will not even make it that far. I predict that he will resign in discredited disgrace before the fall of 2012. Like my previous prediction, that is based not just on where we are now, but where we are going under his misleadership.

Is the President Above the Law?

Watergate was supposed to have established that Presidents are not above the law. If that is so, President Obama may have to resign for breaking the law in the Sestak affair.

I think Hillary will challenge him for the nomination

I agree. Watch to see if she resigns as SoS before November, so that she doesn't get splattered when the Dems get squashed. That'll be the giveaway that either BO is resigning, or she thinks he can be beat.

I don’t think he will resign over Sestak.

He will pull a LBJ. “I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president,”

Zero thought all he had to do as Pres was to hold endless Community Organizing meetings.

he obviously hates the REAL job of Pres. And his petulence will not allow him to seek another term.

He’ll have to be convicted of impeachment.

GGiven the Kenyan’s personality I suspect he is more dangerous in 2012 if he thinks the Clintons may deprive him of renomination than if he feels he will lose the election. An election might appear to him as a force of nature that he can accept whereas the Clintons would be backstabbers in a plot.

I’ve wondered for quite awhile if the plan isn’t to do exactly what he is doing, then not run for the 2nd term because of real or fake reasons. Just hand off the dem nomination to Hillary and go get a divorce from the lady he lives with.

Hmmmm......interesting, completely plausible theory.

And, between a 20-million-or-more "What I did as the First Black President" book deal, and charging 50 G's a whack to do what he does best (stand in front of adoring crowds and read from a teleprompter) .....he'll be set easily for the rest of his life.

Thanks for the post.
Lost in the article is one of my personal pet peeves. FEMA is an organization that writes checks.
During Katrina it was all DEM government collapse at the local and state level.
Then the press tagged Bush with the responsibility and that is what the people now believe.

What Ferrara didn’t mention in his piece is the Blago trial and the prospect that it might unearth some very damaging evidence

I, for one, am utterly amazed that Blago hasn't been whacked yet. He knows far too much (not just on BO, but the whole corrupt Chi machine) and is too much of a loose cannon.

Schikelgruber was a narcissist, too, but he was also going progressively insane, I think, and he was a hard calculator though his scheming got further and further around the bend. America’s head Mohammedan doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of insanity, just detachment from reality that comes from never having to deal with reality, the same malady that infects so many of our affluent college graduates. Soetoro is likely more amenable to suggestion or direction from his mentors than the Austrian was.

then every appointment ...yep

every edict (I'm thinking executive order) ... or treaty he has signed ....yep

legislation.... Not sure about that one. Wonder if it would be able to be re-submitted by Congress (and then get rubber-stamped by the current pres, see my next....)

McCain would then become President ....This one I'm pretty sure of. I think that the presidency would go to Biden. Until the two of them were sworn in, McCain had a shot. Now, there's a line of succession.

I'm not a Consitutional Scholar, by any means. But, I was paying attention on the threads here at FR about 18 months ago.

President Obama will NEVER resign — even if they start impeachment proceedings (which they won't). He will be the second black president who, even if caught on the WH lawn raping a woman, then shooting her point blank, would never be prosecuted by the Congress during his presidency. Nope. Ain't gonna’ happen. We still have Bungling Bill, and now we'll have his faithful sidekick, Bumbling Barry. The only thing they can see to do (because they have ABSOLUTELY NO SHAME or INNER COMPASS) is to hang on and try to ride it out, blame the other side and hope that they can throw enough obfuscation and some of it will stick.

Biden?

At least he does hate the US as much as his boss. So it might be a slight improvement to slow down the march to socialism.

I believe “medical problems” would allow him to save face and step down....
I truly believe obama is despised by many Dems in the party, but they would have to admit a mistake in openly opposing him...
Just my theory, tho’.

Zero would have to recognize failure in order to resign.

And the MSM would have to recognize his failure as well. Fat chance.

The only resignation you will see over this if there is ANY possibility of someone bearing responsibility for this and other blunders is Rahm Emanuel. It won't be Clinton or Obama, trust me.

Actually, Zero “will” resign if his puppet master deems him to be a liability to their cause and directs him to do so.

When his puppet-master deems him to be a liability to the cause, he will transform The Won into a martyr; there will be no resignation.

It was. Hillary was annointed to be President after Bush. She was so sure that the Presidental nomination was hers, she just went through the motion of campaigning. Then all of a sudden, she was out before she knew what was going on.

imho . . .

1. OThuga will not resign. His REACTIVE ATTACHMENT ORDER IS QUITE SERIOUS ENOUGH that his insecurity based arrogance is enormous. The only way he’d resign is if he were threatened devastatingly by the same folks who put him in place, pull his puppet strings and script his teleprompter.

2. I still believe he was put in place as DESTROYER IN CHIEF to utterly destroy as much of our grand land as he could manage as fast as possible . . . and then . . .

3. when things get super chaotic, deadly, destructive . . . to dramatically replace him, making him a horrendous scape-goat.

4. I expect someone slicker or a place holder for someone slicker after Othuga. . . . or even more of a puppet—hard to imagine how that COULD be.

5. There’s a surprising number of Christians—at least a handful that I know of—who’ve had dramatic dreams of him being removed and . . . by our military. That could get very interesting.

GOD HAVE MERCY ON ALL TRUE PATRIOTS WHO LOVE GOD AND OUR LAND.
