The Netanyahu governments attitude to the United States shows it is waiting for President [Sarah] Palin, an Obama official reportedly told Peter Beinart, writing for the Atlantic Monthly news site. Palin was the Republican candidate for vice president two years ago and is considered a front-running candidate for the next presidential election in 2012.
As an Obama official once told me about the Netanyahu team, with amazement, these guys are actually waiting for President Palin, wrote Beinart, a senior political writer for The Daily Beast and associate professor of journalism and political science at City University of New York.
In a critical article noting that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and senior government officials preach to the chorus of right-wing and Christian fundamentalist groups in the United States,

Well Duh!
She’s the only one, with the exception of Demint, showing leadership.
She is out front and center of every issue fighting!
Not trying to compromise, not trying to reach across the aisle, but fighting from a position of principle.
Of course BeBe would be waiting for her to become POTUS!

Netanyahu is waiting for President “Anybody But Obozo”.
We shall give him his wish.

It ain’t worth arguing with the deluded. My own opinion is that Palin is not very electable, but I strongly admire her, and as an outsider harassing the left she has at least 5x the value she would have as, say, VP. The way she makes liberal heads explode is just a thing of perpetual beauty.

Netanyahu is in good company, but we have a long wait until November 2012. Even the wait for November 2010 is very long as the community organizer dismantles our country.

Agree completely. I would love for her to be president but I don't see it happening. The left did a masterful job of demonizing her to the majority of the stupid public.
Apparently you two weren't around when Reagan got elected, either time.
The media ALSO did a masterful job of demonising him and he won convincingly twice, and then there is the hatchet job they did on GWB.
Seems our memories are short around here.

It goes without saying that included in the "left" that did a masterful job demonizing SP to the majority of the stupid public was the media.
Their job was made easier by the fact that the stupid public was stupid enough to vote for Obama.

I was around but it was different. Reagan almost beat Ford in the 76 primaries. Palin is not polling anywhere near where she needs to be to win the ‘12 nomination nuch less beat Obamarx. Listen, I hope I am wrong. I think she would be fantastic. I just don’t think she can get elected right now. Perhaps 2016 if it’s open...

You stole my thoughts. The Establishment, the media, the Ivory Tower and everyone else demonized Reagan before, during and after his presidency. Palin is much like Reagan in that she simply doesn't care what people say about her. She has a vision for this country and she is not afraid to reach for it. Just like Bibi! Courage is a relatively rare commodity these days...

And their treatment of GWB was even worse and he still won two terms!
Furthermore, expecting the media to go light on a POTUS candidate that is an actual conservative who also resonates with the base like Sarah Palin does, is a fools errand.
If you are expecting to find somebody who won't have the media attack them and they are conservative, I've got an Island to sell you.

No need for an island here. Campaigns are war. The Democrats always elect losers as POTUS. JFK, LBJ, Carter, Clinton and now this joke. Certainly we can elect someone as passionately conservative as Palin. Its OUR JOB to get her elected.

Another thing Sarah has going for her (along with any other true conservative)is the amount of distrust and even animus directed towards anything that even smells establishment. People are now realizing they were sold a bill of goods by the LSM.
It’s gonna get worse, it has to. This guy makes Carter look like Churchill. People are gonna be so angry by ‘12 there’s no telling what they’ll do.

Palin/Bachman 2012.
Now that would make the heads of the Left and those supporting Myth and Ron Paul and the Huckster explode!
Great idea!
To: Attention Surplus Disorder
My own opinion is that Palin is not very electable, She may be the only one who's electable. It's hard to see the forest for the trees in this mess but she is one of the few who aren't manipulated by the press.
The media gave us McCain as a candidate and they will try to pick our candidate again in 2012. They'll pick one of these guys who they've pumped up as a winner then slash him to pieces after the primary. Since Sarah doesn't play their game, they won't be able to control her image. All other hopefuls are still worshipping at the media altar thinking that's their only ticket in. P>
I already see people reevaluating her, I think she'll win and do to the msm what Reagan did to the unions.
IMHO :-)

I would be fine with some of the other conservative potential-candidates as well... but at the moment, I think one can say that Palin has a fair shot at the nomination.
Granted, much can happen in a year and a half to change the whole playing field...
