Our founders, despite whatever differences, knew human nature and designed our constitution and government accordingly. Only a few reads of their words illustrate how far we have strayed.
Far too many in our nation have been lured into immorality, dependence, or apathy by the wiles of evil, designing men and women who lust for power and vice and want our liberty destroyed.
But we can take it back during any election cycle if the American people simply return to those fundamental moral principles (which are fundamental Christian principles) John Adams spoke of and rise up and kick the frauds and internal enemies out and send them packing.
I pray God in Heaven that 2010 and 2012 are such years.
Here's another excellent opportunity to make it happen. In order to do so, we need men and women of principle, dedicated to the US Constitution and the fundamental moral principles that are it's foundation.
There is a FreeRepublic alliance effort, supported by Jim Robinson, geared at identifying and supporting such candidates at all levels of government and amassing support for the in every state in thi union.
These candidates and members take an oath or affirmation to support and defend the US Constitution up front and bear true faith and allegiance to the same. They also swear the same to 12 rock solid, conservative, constitutional principles that they swea to enact or defend in law if elected.

Well known freepers Jeff Head, Neil Wright, Matthew Bracken (Travis McGee), David Wright (dwusmc), Ward Dorrity (noumenon) sit on the advisory board for this group and are joined there by well known Pastor Stephen Broden who is running for congress in Texas, and well known David Hedrick who is running for congress in Washington.
We already have 30 very viable candidates from 21 states who have taken this oath and are being supported by almost 1,000 members. But we need 1,000 candidates and a million members.
So, freepers, here's a chance to get involved beyond the very effective and gratifying street protests and be actively involved in putting the right people in office at all levels of government and take our nation back, restoring constitutional principle in the process.
Please join with us today, and join your state group and actively work with you brother and sister, liberty loving Americans there to elect constitutional candidates wherever we can.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I noticed you have Vincent Forras (CT) as an independent on your list of thirty. He was an OP(formerly the GOP) candidate but did not receive enough votes to be the nominee or primary. His website does not state he has switched from OP to independent.

I’ll check it out and see how you get on their mailing list. I know if you and all the others you mentioned are involved with it, then it is a worthwhile effort.
It is basil, and there are a lot of Texans getting involved and several candidates for congress have already signed on, including Pastor Broden.

We have a very impressive lady running against Lloyd Doggett (ugh!)! Her name is Judy—drawing a blank on her last name—and she probably doesn’t have a real good chance since Lloyd Doggett is firmly entrenched in the very liberal university city of Austin. I’m doing all I can for her, though.
I don’t know what district Pastor Broden in in.

Wall... as you would put it logically listening to your own self, this is really about restoring recognition of the Constitution. Nothing bad happened to it, except for it being ignored.

I tend to agree with abortionisalwaysmurder...The Constitution is our holy grail...The goal we hope to achieve through it's restoration as the controlling framework within which this Nation once flourished as a Constitutional Republic...
However, it is the Declaration of Independence that provides the key paradigm for our freedom and liberty:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.." In addition, it supplies us with the specific tactical concepts that may be ultimately required to fully restore a Constitutional Republic:
"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them ..."

I agree with the critical meaning and force of the Declaration. It speaks to the underlying principles (which we also require people to swear to support and bear true faith and allegiance to). Butt the constitution is the law, and it is in place and if followed, would allow us through direct legal means, to restore the Republic.
We just need to get enough people, committed to both the constitution and its underlying fundamental principles (and we specifically
Iist 12 such principles to tie these candidates feet to the fire), which they should hold inviolate in any case, and get enough of them into office to turn it around...and I believe we can do it. The DOI defines those principles as well...and I believe we cover them pretty well in our list and the definition of each.

Some have read it and hate it with a passion and are dedicated to not only ignoring it, but destroying it if they can (I place Obama in this crowd).
A few are dedicated patriots and we need to vastly increase that number which is what this effort is all about, increasing awareness of both the document and it’s underlying principles and then getting candidates elected to office dedicated to the same.

The method to find and elect them proposed in this effort will ensure that does not happen. And in the rare case it did, they would be branded immediately by those who elected them as an oath breaker and removed in the next cycle.
We now have 31 candidates from 21 states who have joined the effort.
