But, my dear readers, as the president and his administration proceed to fundamentally transform America as he promised, the floor under our feet, the one we were hoping to bounce back from, is being shattered. There is a dark deep abyss beneath, an unknown that those not blinded by the happy-ending syndrome believe is a socialist agenda at best, one that will destroy the United States of America.
Please tell me, if the president doesn’t believe in exceptionalism for our country, which succeeded in being great because of its freedoms and unparalleled system, why does he believe in personal exceptionalism? Why did he rise to the top and become a president and not remain a community organizer? Is he the only one allowed to reach for the top, to be exceptional, while the rest of us peons have to wait until he and his mammoth and ever-growing government doles us out what they think we deserve?

Rush told him there will be more obstacles for him but the American people are still the American people and they are not going to let the Marxists tear down what they built up. He said “When it is time to panic, you will see me moving to New Zealand, and that is not happening yet.”
One of our biggest failures has been that of the Republican primary voters nominating such awful candidates as John McPain, GWB, Lindsey Graham, Arlen Specter, the list is endless. The GOP must therefore share in America’s demise.

America is down but not out. We will bounce back. However, we will, as my husband says, need a Reagan on steriods to reverse what is happening right now.
One of my friends rehabilitates foreclosed homes. These are nice homes in upper, middle-class neighborhoods. He says it is not at all unusual to find half-million dollar houses absolutely trashed by the former owners, once those owners realized they were losing them. Appliances, plumbing and wiring are ripped out, sprinkler systems destroyed, landscaping poisoned, drywall used as target practice for large and small objects or even latrines, banisters smashed, windows broken out. Nothing convinces me the Dems won’t be exactly the same vis a vis our country if, by a miracle, there are honest elections, and they lose power. Lame Duck season will be very, very dangerous.
This Lame Duck session will be destructive no matter who wins.
You have a point. I vote we furlough Congress from the election until January swearing-in.
Remember, while George W. Bush was president, the left, with it's gigantic media megaphone, issued almost daily warnings about 'Bush and Cheney shredding the constitution', how the war in Iraq was going to be our Armageddon, the Bush tax cuts would 'destroy our economy', blah, blah, blah. Yet, as far as anyone can tell, none of that happened and life in America went on as usual.
Sure, Rush Limbaugh rants about Obama (just like he ranted about Clinton) and Fox News has some scary stuff about Obama and his administration but too many Americans figure that hey, it's just politics as usual, i.e. the Democrats and Republicans hate each other. Thus, too many Americans willfully ignore the very harsh, unpleasant reality of a 'transformed' America that is quickly overtaking us.
Like Ms Davidovit, I'm getting worried that we may never get to see a 2012 presidential election. Meanwhile, the upcoming fall election that will likely remove the Democrat voting majority in congress may well end up motivating the leftists still in power to put the screws to us, big-time, during a lame-duck session that they'll see as an opportunity for 'payback' to the majority of Americans that will have rejected the left's Orwellian future for our great nation. These are dangerous times and I fear that too many Americans are simply not aware and/or concerned enough to do what is necessary. However, millions are, and in those folks I now put my hopes. Still, I pray for our country in their perilous times.
I always wonder what Bush the elder or the younger think about what is happening. Are they seething in anger or quietly cheering?
If it's the former, at what point do they think obuster has enough rope and they kick over the chair he's balanced on?

Debt has only exceeded GDP once before, and that was in WWII when REAL GDP was way lower.

I don’t see much hope of bouncing back when ordinary Americans are reacting to this crisis this way — by destroying property in adolescent fits and blame projection.
Yes, I can understand the frustration of losing your home and maybe even your entire portion. But if we don’t keep our wits about us as people, what’s going to happen when the really stupid folks get riled up?
I always remember on September 11th, an interview I saw with someone who had been in the WTC. They said the reason so many people got out is that people reacted with amazing order. They keep in lines to the side of the staircases. They let people entering from the various floors in in an orderly way. They made way for firemen and the disabled. It was an amazing picture of LITTLE PANIC.
What your friend sees in those homes is the opposite of LITTEL PANIC. It is not orderly, sober or rational. It will not come to a good end.
