Virginia Tech is well known for its robotics program, but the intelligence to maneuver at highway speeds would be phenomenal.

Great. The drivers who *can* see, don’t see motorcycles now...Will they be texting, too?

That reminds me of the movie (I forget the name) where a cop stops a carload of revelers. The driver was blind. Astonished, the cop asks "Why are you guys letting a blind man drive?"
Their reply: "Because he's the only one who's sober."

Yelling at them doesn’t help either, does it?

Hey, at least they’re not on their cell phones. ‘Course they could be *texting*... yikes!

Anyone who has ever driven in Montgomery, Al is already aware that blind people drive every day.

Let me just be the first to say - This is a FANTASTIC idea.

But why stop at driving? There's no reason blind people shouldn't be flying aircraft of performing heart surgery, either.

About the stupidest and resource wasting ideas I have ever heard about. There is not enough bandwidth to explain the potential problems with a sysytem like the one proposed.

I foresee a future when computer autopilot is mandatory and humans are no longer allowed to drive.
That is, if we're allowed to have cars at all then.
