GOProud Calls on RNC Chairman Michael Steele to Resign
GOProud ^ | July 3, 2010 | Christopher R. Barron

Posted on 07/03/2010 2:05:51 PM PDT by DesertRenegade

Today, GOProud, the only national organization of gay conservatives and their allies, called on Michael Steele to resign as Chairman of the Republican National Committee after he made comments critical of the U.S. war in Afghanistan.

Christopher R. Barron, Chairman of the Board:

"Michael Steele's comments regarding the war in Afghanistan are inexcusable. These comments are not just another gaffe that can be explained away, they represent a fundamental failure to understand the importance of winning the war on global extremism.

"Chairman Steele shouldn't need to be reminded that the war in Afghanistan was not a ‘war of Obama's choosing.' The Chairman of the RNC shouldn't need to be reminded that it was terrorists operating from bases in Afghanistan who started this war on September 11, 2001.

"Michael Steele is dead wrong; the war in Afghanistan is not lost. What is lost, however, is any shred of confidence that conservatives can have in his leadership at the RNC. This election cycle is simply too important to the future of the conservative movement and to the future of this country to be trusted to someone like Michael Steele."

What a surprise that some militant homosexual group is one of the first to denounce Michael Steele. I don't agree with everything Steele has said or done, but it is not the place of some special interest homosexual group to be trying to tear him down. The irony is that they are criticizing him on a military matter and they aren't even allowed to serve in the military.

As if most FReepers give a crap what those freaks think.

Steele should step down for incompetence and backing RINO’s and he should have done it last year.

Well, I WAS against Steele because of the distractions while on his watch.

But, If GOProud is calling for Steel’s resignation, I’m calling for his strong support. Gotta know who the enemy is and what they are doing.

“..and they aren’t even allowed to serve in the military. Huh???”

GOProud is made up of avowed homosexuals. They are not allowed to serve in the military because they announced their lifestyle choice - apparently choosing a sexual fetish over patriotism.

Why did they have to go and do that? Now I'm going to be forced to urge him to stay.

GOProud “the only conservative gay group”? I guess they’re calling Log Cabin Republicans liberals? (They are.)

That does it for me.

If Steele loses the Grand Ole Packers - he’s lost the nation.

Have any conservative/Republican groups, or major individuals for that matter, come out in wholehearted support of Steele in the last month or so? Just curious.

If there are any, please provide links.

Thanks

“I called on Steele to step last year due to rank incompetence.”

Who hired him? Who has the power to fire him?

Answering my own question, it seems Ron Paul has come out publicly in favor of Steele. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2546541/posts

Well, that’s what the Republican apparatchiki get for casting ballots for this guy. On the other hand, we,re winning elections under him.

This is the first organization that I heard of to call for his resignation, and they’re queer. Wouldn’t gays normally support somebody like him? OH, SNAP!

As touching as it is for the RNC to have a special needs child as its Chairman, I think it is time to move on from Mike Steele.
