Democrats digging harder than ever for dirt on Republicans
Washington Post ^ | 07/07/10 | Phillip Rucker

Posted on 07/07/2010 6:38:43 AM PDT by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

The Democratic Party is moving faster and more aggressively than in previous election years to dig up unflattering details about Republican challengers. In House races from New Jersey to Ohio to California, Democratic operatives are seizing on evidence of GOP candidates' unpaid income taxes, property tax breaks and ties to financial firms that received taxpayer bailout money.

In recent weeks, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has circulated information to local reporters about Republican candidates in close races. Among the claims:

-- That Jim Renacci of Ohio once owed nearly $1.4 million in unpaid state taxes.

-- That David Harmer of California received $160,000 in bonus and severance pay from a firm that got a federal bailout.

-- That Jon Runyan of New Jersey got a legal break in property taxes for his 25-acre homestead by qualifying for a farmland assessment thanks to his four donkeys.

Which is why we should hammer the democrats with headlines like “Pete Stark mocks constituents” and “Pete Stark, admits that American debt makes him rich”.

I agree but the neutered GOP won't and if they did they would just turn around and apologize for it.

From the party that brought us killer Kennedy, Ku Klux Klan Kleagle Byrd, and the “Kountless Krooks” from Illinois (including the t*rd in Chief)?

Don't forget the House post office check kiters like Dan "Rosty" Rostenkowski.

Our intelligence agents already know the dirt on Pelosi, Reid, Zero, et al. They know the truth and are, obviously, too gutless to expose it.

Republicans could just show line by line the taxes that Americans will be hit with under this health care law...for instance a tax on special needs children’s medical care. Show the tax and the pg. # it is found on in the bill.

I have a property tax "break" (it is really a deferral) on my property and all I grow is trees. I will get taxed on the income from the trees when I harvest.

We are not getting hand outs only incentives to grow stuff. We are being good stewards.

It doesn't matter. They are the party in charge, as has been the case for the past 4 years, and they will be paying the price in November.

Meanwhile, the investigation of Shore Bank in Illinois, with many connections to NObama is closed with no further comment.

If a Republican has a chronic hangnail & toe fungus- it becomes media front page stuff.

Any Lieberal can do as they please, & nary a peep from the media.

Nobama & the Dems may well crash & burn in November, & the media may well signal their own demise at the same time.

Lame...

-- That Jim Renacci of Ohio once owed nearly $1.4 million in unpaid state taxes.

Key words: "Once owed"

-- That David Harmer of California received $160,000 in bonus and severance pay from a firm that got a federal bailout.

Who wouldn't take money that's given to them for work? This says more about the federal govt and the bailouts than it does about Harmer.

-- That Jon Runyan of New Jersey got a legal break in property taxes for his 25-acre homestead by qualifying for a farmland assessment thanks to his four donkeys.

Key words: "legal break". No doubt thanks to the dems in congress who created such a ridiculous tax break.

Quote; “Jon Vogel, executive director of the DCCC, said Democrats are merely pointing out that some Republican recruits in competitive House races are “flawed candidates.”

Right, and Chris Christie was, gulp, fat. If that is their definition of a flawed candidate, I say better those flawed candidates than the flawed incumbents we have now that are drunk on power and ruining this country. One thing is for certain. If this is the kind of stuff the democrats are going to rely on, then it is crucial that Republicans stick, regligiously stick to the substance. It will make this kind of stuff backfire on the democrats big time.

From the party that brought us killer Kennedy, Ku Klux Klan Kleagle Byrd, .....

Someone with better knowledge will correct me, but I thought Robert Byrd was an Exalted Cyclops, which is if I understand it correctly, on about the level of president of a union local, or chairman of a local lodge.

The effing Washington Post carried it - they spread the word for dems. It might be minor - but it got play.

The story about Black Panthers voter intimidation case being dumped didn't get a line. The Washington Post doesn't care about voter intimidation unless the "right racial group" is the victim... In short they're a racist newspaper.

The MSM does what it can to get their boys elected. Any conservative subscribing to these papers might as well donate the money directly to the DNC ...

I think the point is the MSM covered for Byrd for decades. If a Republican had been a member of the KKK it would have been "out there" until he resigned.

With a dem, there's no horror too great the MSM won't cover for it, IF it's one of their own. Kennedy killing, Kennedy rape, Clinton rape charges, Clinton sexual harassment, KKK membership, voter intimidation by black panthers, conservatives beat up by Union goons... the list is endless when it comes to their boys...They cover for 'em.

PASS OUT THE PASSES... dems ARE the MSM teacher's pets...

If you have doubt, contrast this with what Dan Rather was almost able to pull off - a lie - a fabrication about George Bush that the MSM ran with - why check it out if it trashes a Republican? Run with the story - quick - before it found to be a lie.

Has any paper EVER retracted a story that trashed a dem because the facts "weren't there"? No. Never. Check those facts one more time.... If it's something that trashes dems, they are ever soooooooo careful. Has there ever been a story that ran that trashed Republicans that had to be retracted because the story was a lie? YES. Many.

They - the MSM - ARE the haters. Eff the Washington Post. Eff the New York Times.

You may be correct about Robert Byrd's title and position in the KKK. Guess I should have researched it myself rather than take what I had read and heard as fact, although his actual position wasn't relevent to the point I was making.

The fact that a Republican had signed up as a member of the KKK at age 18, and only attended one meeting, would have been enough for the Dems and the State Controlled Media to use to destroy him. Yet, we have Dems, who have used racism charges against Republicans for decades, defending an actual segregationist in the Dem Party, and saying he did what he had to do to get elected.

My point is that the Dems and our national "journalists" will tell lies big enough to choke any good mule, but apparently not big enough to choke that bunch of Jackasses.
