As Laura Ingraham Sells New Book, NBC's Lauer Sells Idea That Dems, GOP Equally Hated
newsbusters ^ | 7/13/10 | Geoffrey Dickens

Laura Ingraham was invited on Tuesday's Today show, to plug her new book The Obama Diaries, and predict how the midterm elections will go but she couldn't get out of the segment without Today co-anchor Matt Lauer suggesting Republicans are just as unpopular as the Democrats. During the segment Lauer read from a Washington Post poll that stated 6 in 10 Americans don't have faith in President Obama and 7 in 10 don't have faith in Congressional Democrats but then also pointed out that 7 in 10 Americans don't have much confidence in Republicans either as he asked Ingraham: "So what's the message here? A pox on all their houses." Ingraham agreed there's "a lot of cynicism out there," but went on to point out the folly of assuming Democrats are somehow safe as she retorted to Lauer: "I think that's a little facile to say, 'Oh everyone who's in power is just a disaster and no one trusts anyone.' I don't think that's true. I think what people are seeing, that the nation is in debt. We have a lack of focus on things like the Gulf Coast."

I hate the Democrats when they act too much like Democrats. I hate the Republicans when they act too much like Democrats. What is the common theme with those two statements?

The msm is busy doing a 6 month anniversary series on HAITI.

Forget Americans in the Gulf Coast.

As an independent conservative, I’ve no use for the Rino party. And I have little hope it will change into a conservative party. Therefore, I intend to support the most conservative candidate who is also pro-life, pro-gun, pro-God, and pro-family.

“...suggesting Republicans are just as unpopular as the Democrats.”

.
That’s because the demarcation between the two parties has become fuzzy at times with too many RINOS reaching across the political aisle in order to get along at the expense of the American people.

GOP = Gutless Old Party.

That we don't need any more actors in Washington? ;-)

I hate the Republican party too and understand why others do; HOWEVER the rats are in full control of congress and the White House and have used that power to make things even worse. Right now I want gridlock in Washington. I want Republicans to block nearly everything and democrats to get the blame. Republicans have nothing to offer but NO. But right now we need NO.

Democats were unpopular in 2006 and 2008 but successfully made the election an referendum on GWB. They won the State Houses and governorships using Bush also. Now they dont like voters applying the same rule to them.

From Land of the Lost:

Dr. Rick Marshall: This is for you. I signed it.
[hands his book to Matt Lauer]
Dr. Rick Marshall: You're supposed to say the title and the publisher.
Matt Lauer: That's not gonna happen.
Dr. Rick Marshall: Just say it.
Matt Lauer: No.
Dr. Rick Marshall: Just say the damn title.
Matt Lauer: Fine.
[shows book to TV audience]
Matt Lauer: 'Matt Lauer Can Suck It' by Dr. Rick Marshall.

I'm in that same boat with you and I suspect there are others. My only reservation is the corrupting influence of DC on any conservative Demos that get elected.

It is quite possible, there could be a hint of truth to the statement. However, it is not the kind of displeasure that "Suck-it" Lauer thinks.

Overall, I am mightily pissed at elected Republicans overall. Mostly, I think they are a bunch of ball-less bastards primarily concerned with not offending, and thus, appeasing, Democrats and fringe victim groups.

That said, there is just no way in Cowboy Hell I'd EVER vote for a Democrat under ANY circumstances, period.

Where to we go from here? Screw the appeaser incumbents - screw them with a vengeance and vote them out. Vote for anybody endorsed by SP or the real Tea-party. Put your appeaser RINO incumbents on notice they will lose your vote for even the smallest infraction (e.g., voting for ANYTHING Obama wants).

Just downloaded Laura’s book. I’m REALLY enjoying it ... I’m about 1/4 way into it and am having a good time reading it ... lots of “smiles” and “I told you so’s”. A good summer read.

Lauer lives in a very small world.

Other than talking to his mirror- he doesn’t get out into the whole country very much, does he?

At the rate the mainstream media & all of it’s ‘stars’ are limiting their information sources, it won’t be long before they all will need bodyguards.

I have zero problem with Gov Palin, if the conservatives let her get there.

(Meaning that the rinos let us flood the field with candidates who knock each other out of the running leaving the spoils for a conservative talking rino like mccain/romney/dole. Pick one, stay with him/her.)

Not quite true. While I agree that the DBM had successfully demonized Bush and the Republicans, the Republicans in the Congress aided and abetted their own demise through sheer ineptness. They had lurched so far to the left while they had all 3 branches of government that it became impossible to distinguish them from Democrats. As a result of the lines between Dems and 'Pubbies being so blurred, NO ONE could distinguish one from the other. In '06, the election was essentially, "what the h&ll, the 'Pubbies aren't doing what I want, maybe the Dems will." By '08, the DBM had managed to discredit all of the decent 'Pubbies running for prez except their favorite butt boy McVain while building that "Stairway to Heaven" with zero so that EVERYONE wanted to vote for him and not the old, entrenched white guy. The "good guys in the white hats" had simply disappeared and were replaced by a despicable class of RINOS who are still there.
