Public Radio Publicist Apologizes For Controversial Remarks About Limbaugh
NPR Blog ^ | July 21, 2010 | David Gura

Posted on 07/21/2010 12:30:13 PM PDT by rightwingintelligentsia

This morning, The Daily Caller posted a story about an email message radio publicist Sarah Spitz reportedly sent to Journolist, a now-defunct listserv.

"If you were in the presence of a man having a heart attack, how would you respond?" The Daily Caller article began. "As he clutched his chest in desperation and pain, would you call 911? Would you try to save him from dying? Of course you would."

--snip--

I made poorly considered remarks about Rush Limbaugh to what I believed was a private email discussion group from my personal email account. As a publicist, I realize more than anyone that is no excuse for irresponsible behavior. I apologize to anyone I may have offended and I regret these comments greatly; they do not reflect the values by which I conduct my life.

Obama needs to summon Rush and her to the Rose Garden for a beer.

TRANSLATION...

I am not really sorry at all, I am mad that I have been exposed.

Agreed. The fact that she had to point out it was private discussion underscore that she still privately wishes Rush would die a horrible death.

Liberals are just soooooooooooooooooooo tolerant, eh?

She doesn’t work for NPR. She works for a local radio station and helps produces a show that is picked up by some NPR stations.

I apologize to anyone I may have offended (except Limbaugh) and I regret these comments greatly; they do not reflect the values by which I conduct my life.

Fixed it.

Uggghh-it really is. Every time I think of running for public office, I remember things I have written on this forum that could haunt me if they were taken out of context.

She is simply a liar. She meant every word she said in that email; sad and stupid as it may be.

In my opinion, the only regret here is that they were “found out.” Same goes for Elitist politicians and the MSM who are doing their utmost to destroy our country. Exposure is all they fear and power is their God.

. . .they do not reflect the values by which I conduct my life.

Yes, they do. You thought you were on a "private" e-mail exchange, and so you showed your true colors.

Sarah, you're a disgusting piece of human filth. And I don't care WHO publicizes that comment.

It’s still a ‘public radio’ station, which means it is supported with tax dollars. I think the cow should be fired.

"they do not reflect the values by which I conduct my life."

They reflect the kind of person you are - evil, nasty, and worthless.

So when is someone at NPR getting fired?

She is essentially a government employee. As Ms. Sherrod says 'Have you ever seen government employees lose their jobs?'

Just for the record, some of us recall the following joke that made the rounds about 15 years ago. Here’s one version:

Imagine that you are a press photographer on assignment, covering a terrible flood.

You’re at the edge of a raging river, and you hear calls for help. When you investigate, you find Hillary Clinton clinging desperately to a branch in the water near the edge.

You have the opportunity to offer a stronger branch and pull her to safety, or to take a Pulitzer-prize-winning photograph of her drowning.

Your moral choice: Do you go for f-stop or shutter speed?
