With recent controversial race topics entering the spotlight, such as the voter intimidation incident and Shirley Sherrod story, the media has been more than willing to open their arms and turn on their cameras to hear the opining of the National Chairman of the New Black Panther Party, Malik Zulu Shabazz. Shabazz has appeared on Fox News, issued a statement through CNN, and done exclusive interviews for various media outlets.

The Anti-Defamation League has described Shabazz as anti-Semitic and racist, trying "to recast himself as a serious civil rights leader in recent years by cloaking his bigotry and intolerance in religious and civil rights principles and inserting himself in high profile, racially charged issues around the country." This certainly seems to be the case as he has made an increasing number of appearances in the media, in which the audience is to suspend belief and assume this man is an evenhanded voice on race relations in America.

A friend of mine had a nephew visiting from NYC, a kid in his teens. The kid talked about always having to have 50 bucks in his pocket so the street trash wouldn't beat him up when they robbed him. Agreed, however it depends which cities and which parts of those cities. Not all whites sit back and take it and the brothers know where they can and can’t go to intimidate. However, I would agree that a rural setting is much more paranoia producing to a ghetto dweller, especially since the rural population is more likely to own, and know how to use, several types of guns. Lastly, assuming Mr. Shabazz can do simple math, the white population of the U.S.A. is many times greater than that of the black population, and a grade school math exercise of the number of firearms owned by those same Americans divided by the applicable races means that there are approximately a 4 or 5 to one ratio of white vs. black peoples and guns. I would say that proves he’s outgunned and more readily defeated, or am I missing something?

when i was 7 and in second grade... i had to do a black history report on not turner. a hero of the black community. the encyclopedia that i used to reference my report stated that not turner led a slave revolt, and killed 187 white people, mostly women and children, while they slept.

i was looking forward to celebrating black history month. somehow, i couldn’t find the words of joy.
