Can’t wait to see the UAW drones driving these to go deer hunting.

I heard that a few years ago GM actually had a viable hydrogen car. It went over 300 miles between fill ups and it cost about $8.00 to fill the tank, and the projected cost was in the $20K range. A prototype was built but when 0bama's regime nationalized the car industry, the plans were scrapped.

You're just replacing tailpipe emissions with smokestack emissions.

The only way that this could be mitigated is by building nuclear power plants, which 0b0z0 and the left refuse to do. They give lip service but tighten regulations at the same time.

If they give the go ahead today, it will take close to ten years to put a nuclear plant on-stream.

It's total nonsensical communist propaganda to push a $41,000 40-hours-per-charge electric car without any infrastructure to support this crap.

Not to talk about the electric grid upgrade, the price of electricity that "will necessarily skyrocket," and the availability of consumers to buy a white elephant in a bankrupt economy.

This is a reminder of the five-year plans the "targeted economy" of the defunct USSR.

0bagger's "green economy" is only found coming out of his nose. Period.

All my life, I have searched for a car that feels a certain way, powerful like a gorilla, yet soft and yielding like a Nerf ball. Now, at last, I have found it.

...personal transportation does not even make the top 100 list of this administrations priorities for future citizens of the new socialism.

They want us to ride overpriced Metropolitan Transportation District choo-choo trains run by ACORN honchos who pay themselves a thousand times what the average MTD train rider makes.

MTDs are reparations to stick it to the white devil for keeping the black man down.

Wow, a forty-one-thousand dollar battery powered Chevette.

I’ll take two. Where do I sign?

Well, yes. Electric cars only make sense if you have cheap and plentiful nuclear power.

And what are the odds that the leftist flying pigs will ever actually support nuclear power?

I’d say about zero. Just ask Jane Fonda what she thinks about it.

Hitler demanded a “peoples’ car” as well.

It is important to insure that the “citizens” can go to and from “appropriate” places like work, home, and occasionally government food stores. At the “approved” times and days. Hey, it makes the euro’s happy enough.

Even then, there’s that little matter of the outdated grid.

If *everyone* drove home a brand new shiny Shevvy Volt this afternoon, it would be “lights out America” by tomorrow morning!

Best line from the article:
So this is the vehicle that GM has bet the farm on? More like buying the farm.

GM is a zombie company.

Hyperbole aside... I wonder, if you did a racial composition tally of city, state, and federal government employees, do you think the distribution of government parasites would “look like America”? I.e. 12% black parasites, 15% hispanic parasites, and 65% white parasites?

Or would it be skewed rather heavily towards parasites of color?

My guess is, it would be the latter.

I wonder if there has ever been a study like this done. I can’t find one after a few minutes research.

One envisions 0bama standing high on a podium that towers over thousands of cheering followers, shouting out a speech in Indonesian expressing his enthusiasm for his new car that would cause the oceans to stop rising and the planet to stop turning brown, the VOLTSWAGEN.
