… it makes no sense for Arizona to crack down on illegal immigrants in the hopes that it will somehow get rid of drug dealers.
Unless, of course, the real objective all along has been something much sneakier:
to use the fear of drug dealers to get rid of illegal immigrants.

Ruben, I’m only one Arizonan, but I do have a unique perspective.
In that I’ve lived here over two different time periods.
from 1994 — 1998
from 2007 — present
As far as feeling safe, I can tell you that not only is there no comparison between these two periods, but things have gotten progressively worse even since 2007.
I’m a democrat who supported Bush’s comprehensive immigration reform in 2007 along with Senators McCain and Kyl.
All Republicans.
So long as Mexico remains unsafe and our Tuscon sector remains unsecured, my family is not safe.
Who’s to blame?
Blame Calderon for the mess he’s made of Mexico.
Blame recreational drug users in the United States who are complicit in every single drug-related act of horror both below and above the border.
Blame Obama and Napolitano who conspire to keep the Tucson sector open in order to have a bargaining chip in future negotiations.
And blame every single pundit who perpetuates the lie that Arizona is safe enough, when we Arizonans know deep down that we are in survival mode.
In a word, we are human.
Even more so the Senate needs Hayworth.
