Franken most foul (Al becoming "notorious" for bizarre behavior)
Power Line ^ | 8/7/2010 | Scott Johnson

When there is a local angle to a national story, the local press usually has a field day with it. That hasn't proved to be the case with the story regarding Minnesota Senator Al Franken's outrageous behavior in the Senate during Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's speech opposing the confirmation of Elena Kagan on Thursday. The Star Tribune ran one perfunctory story by reporter Kevin Diaz and let it go at that.

I spent the lunch hour yesterday on the phone with knowledgeable sources on Capitol Hill seeking additional information and background on the Franken incident. It didn't take much digging to discover that there is more to the story than has made its way into the local papers.

[....]

I find Franken's behavior almost unbelievable. It is conduct unbecoming a United States Senator. Franken himself doesn't defend it. But there is more to it than this.

I was told that Franken has become notorious on Capitol Hill for incidents of this kind. He is described as someone who frequently becomes rageful and lacking in control over the behavior related to his emotions. He is susceptible to outbursts, involving Republican Senators as well as staffers, immediately following which he is consumed with regret. He fits the profile of a guy with serious anger management issues.

Several of the incidents involving Franken have been reported in the Capitol Hill press, if not in the local Minnesota media, and not all such incidents involving Franken have been reported.

Freanken may be obnoxious, but he fits right in with Rangel, Lee and Boxer.

Didn’t Hannity describe some very odd behavior by Franken as well?

A phony Independent candidate named Barkley split the conservative vote. That stinks on ice as well.

Franken's a clown who is jeopardizing the good thing the democrats have had in congress for the past 50 years - a malleable, go-along to get-along republican party.

Who knows - maybe his insulting belligerence will finally bring out the cowboy in his countryclub counterparts.

Actually, he’s in the Senate. A six year job.

The real nutcases here are the people who voted for this idiot. What is the governor going to do about the felon votes who put him in office?

counting, waiting...................(crickets)

“As previously stated, the voters in Minnesota did not elect FranKlown! Secretary of State, Mark Ritchie, did by choosing which ballots to count.:

The voters of MN don’t skate on this. It was a contest that shouldn’t have even been close. The voters of MN made it close enough for Franken and the DNC to ‘fix’ the end result.

It was similar in VA in ‘06 with Webb barely beating out George Allen. Allen chose not to contest the initial count. Dumba$$ VA and MN voters.

The number of convicted felons that voted exceeded the number that Coleman needed to have to win the election.

..found that at least 341 convicted felons in largely Democratic Minneapolis St Paul voted illegally in the 2008 Senate race between Franken, a Democrat, and his Republican opponet.... The final recount vote in the race, determined six months after Election Day, showed Franken beat Coleman by 312 votes--fewer votes than the number of felons whose illegal ballots were counted. Fox News, July 12, 2010...Ed Barnes.

Franken won with the illegal convicted felon vote.

Nobody tell them that everything they say on the floor is being recorded for posterity. Let that be our secret. Would like to see the look on their faces when they find that out.

I think they should bring back dueling. With swords, guns, whatever. There are some people I’d risk dying for a chance to kill them legally.
