Glenn Beck Is Wrong on the Importance of Homosexual ‘Marriage’
Americans For Truth ^ | August 14, 2010 | Peter LaBarbera

Posted on 08/14/2010 2:58:47 PM PDT by DesertRenegade

Looks like Glenn Beck could have benefited from attending the AFTAH Truth Academy. Beck is a doing incredibly important work in helping to save America from the misnamed ”progressives” — but evidently he is woefully ignorant about the real threat that homosexual activism poses to this nation and our precious freedoms. Memo: to Glenn: people of faith — like Matt Barber and Julea Ward — already have been fired or discriminated against for defending the historic Judeo-Christian sexual ethic. And this began happening before “same-sex marriage” became the dominant issue in this cultural debate. The oppression will only get worse if homosexual “marriage” is legalized nationally through an activist court ruling.

"The government has no business what happens in our homes."

But it's not restricted to the home now is it? No...it's shoved in our faces and it has infected every facet of our society and our society is crumbling because of its depravity.

Apparently you have not reviewed the earlier thread regarding this or reviewed the Folsom depravity posted on the first page: http://www.zombietime.com/folsom_sf_2007_part_1/index.php

I can't make it linkable because of the HTML code I've used but simply cut and paste and take a look at what you seem to consider 'benign' behavior.

BTW...the mosque at ground zero is a completely separate issue; no less inflammatory but not a good example to use regarding this abomination we are confronted with. That(ground -O-) is another abomination worthy of a separate thread.

I agree with you. BOR was trying to paint Beck into a corner, and he was smart enough to respond that he believes that the States should govern themselves, not the feds, not activist judges, not anyone. That is why the Civil War was fought. Contrary to belief that it was about Slavery, it was about States Rights. In fact, It was called the War against Northern Agression in the South.

It is a mistake to make homosexuality a political issue.
Really? The left has done just that, and changed society.
The government has no business what happens in our homes.
Really? So you can kill in private and that is OK? How about rape? Drug deals? Counterfeiting? And how about the government schools promoting this conduct?

Aside from what he thinks of it, I guess he’s okay with judges ruling our country.

“Get government out of the marriage business, since they can’t be bothered to recognize what it means.”

I agree, although it doesn’t seem to be too popular of an opinion on FR.

A piece of paper from the gubberment doesn’t make anyone more or less married, according to my faith, no matter the legal benifits it can give. It’s just a shame that the gov’t has the power to punish if one disagrees with the state’s bizarre and mutating definition of marriage.

Government has an almost perfect record of messing up whatever it is involved with. Like marriage. On the other hand, my faith has a perfect record and has never forced anyone to accept impossibilities like “gay marriage”. If it was left to folks’s faiths, I would be free to accept someones marriage based on what my faith says about it, not whatever the state claims. Sexualy active homsexualists commit sin even if they have a piece of paper from the gubberment, and there is nothing that the state can do about it. There is also nothing the gubberment can do to stop God blessing real marriage.

The gov’t is ‘probly never going to give up its involvement in marriage, to that institution’s detriment. It affords too much control in the culture, and is a great weapon for the Enemy. Do you think the homosexualists want the gubberment to quit defining marriage? Not hardly. They want gov’t to be able to regulate marriage, or at least fool folks into thinking it does, forcing and conditioning folks to accept an impossibility like “gay marriage, contrary to what their faith teaches about it.

The bottom line is that true Christianity and many other faiths are never going to change the true definition of marriage, which is very comforting. After all, that’s really all that matters.

Anyone who says “don’t make morality political” is either blind or can’t think. That horse left the barn years ago. Only the made immorality a government mandate!

Throughout history, there has always been legal recognition of marriage for inheritance, paternity and so on. To pretend otherwise is pure fantasy.

LOL!!! I had to quit listening to Beck. He was driving me nuts as well as Hannity. Down here I don’t get him but a teckie fixed up my computer where I can get Rush at my convenience ... so at least I can listen to him later. People ask me who he is and then when they listen to him when I do they’re amazed at what he says ... there are talk shows here that are similar ....

Our society has changed so much. Why? Partly because there are those who refuse to see the impact of those who wash their hands of moral issues. Our grandparents and great grandparents would be shocked.

It’s a lie. Morality matters. Character matters. Belief in God matters.

Hey, don’t sweat it. The gov’t is never going to get its beak out of marriage.

“Throughout history, there has always been legal recognition of marriage for inheritance, paternity and so on.”

Hows that been working out recently?

“To pretend otherwise is pure fantasy.”

I’m not pretending anything, FRiend.
