Glenn Beck Is Wrong on the Importance of Homosexual ‘Marriage’
Americans For Truth ^ | August 14, 2010 | Peter LaBarbera

Posted on 08/14/2010 2:58:47 PM PDT by DesertRenegade

Looks like Glenn Beck could have benefited from attending the AFTAH Truth Academy. Beck is a doing incredibly important work in helping to save America from the misnamed ”progressives” — but evidently he is woefully ignorant about the real threat that homosexual activism poses to this nation and our precious freedoms. Memo: to Glenn: people of faith — like Matt Barber and Julea Ward — already have been fired or discriminated against for defending the historic Judeo-Christian sexual ethic. And this began happening before “same-sex marriage” became the dominant issue in this cultural debate. The oppression will only get worse if homosexual “marriage” is legalized nationally through an activist court ruling.

Keep government out of the moral/social equation totally and the dems/liberals will lose political support.

May I suggest you miss a part of the equation.

Government established by the people under God recognizing unalienable rights endowed the people by the Creator and tasked with protecting such rights can NOT remove itself from the moral equation. To do so would be to retreat from upholding the very basis of our government and individual freedom.

The problem here is not that government is involved in morality -the problem is that government assists those who attempt to redefine it. Instead of government defending we government taking a backseat while at the same time assisting those that in essence seek to destroy that which is unalienable by redefining it...

Society chose to value, reward and protect marriage and family LONG before government came along -government simply carries out social mandate when for instance providing tax breaks for children and or legal standing in many regards between husband and wife. Government did not grant these things just as government did not grant life or liberty. How can government redefine these things that the Creator endowed us with? If the rights emanate from the Creator so do as well the definitions.

Although Beck can make some interesting and insightful comments, he is wrong here.

A strong, traditional family is essential in our industrialized societies. This is Sociology 101.

Arguments in support of this can be found in what sometimes is referred to as the Great Russian experiment - actions taken by the Communists in the late 1930s and early 1940s to eliminate the family, religion, and other institutions. To accomplish their goal, they made marriage irrelevant, used propaganda to attack family as bourgeois, etc. The result was such widespread chaos, that the Communists had no choice but to start emphasizing the important of marriage and family even though it went contrary to their ideology.

“It is a mistake to make homosexuality a political issue.”

I tend to agree more with Reagan, in that our government must be very careful not to endorse such a destructive lifestyle choice. To ratify homosexual ‘marriage’ would be a very dangerous mistake. Reagan was right.

“At the individual level, I have personally known a few homosexuals and, in general, have found them to be quiet, respectful and intelligent.”

I don’t see how that’s relevant at all. Wasn’t the renowned homosexual Jeffrey Dalhmer also known as a quiet, reserved, dedicated worker among his acquaintances?

“The physiological fact is that homosexuals normally do not reproduce.”

That is precisely the point. They themselves have admitted that their lifestyle will die out unless they recruit. That is why they are constantly pushing to legitimize the perversion (State sanctioned ‘gay’ marriage) and indoctrinate in the schools. Doesn’t Glenn see that?

If these right-wing talkers think that without this social issue they have me in their corner they’re wrong. We keep sticking our finger in God’s eye and think that he is going to bless this country? Fools.

The government has no business what happens in our homes.

I think the government should criminalize incest with minor children. Apparently you don't.

The real agenda is to attack traditional marriage and family, what these homosexual activists really want is not to get married themselves, but that nobody else get married either.

But that’s not what it is about. What it is about is allowing 2% or so of the population redefine the 6000 year old institution for the 98% or so of us who are normal. They aren’t going to stop there.

To quote a very great man:

“If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have?”

“Five”

“No, only Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it one”.

That is why they have to call it “homosexual marriage”, cuz it ain’t “marriage”.

The government has no business saying who can build where on private property. If you open that door, we all will regret it.

Gee I guess you hadn't noticed, they have been doing that for years. Maybe you could ask why the Greek Orthodox church that was destroyed at the site, still hasn't been rebuilt?

Keep the government out of the bedroom was the hue and cry against Judge Bork, in case you have forgotten. Maybe we should also ignore that pedophile that is the bedroom with your child next door?

Is it any wonder that the conservatives can’t regain power and hold it? A man like Glen Beck works to bring the country back to a foundation that this country was established with and the morons start shooting at him because he doesn’t adress their particular ideal. Glen has a niche and fills it axtreemly well. We didn’t get into this mess in one election cycle and we’re not going to get out of it in one. If you think a particular subject should be addressed with the skill that Beck covers his then get off your dead arse and start a program and get on TV like he did. If your not doing as much as he is I think silence or support would work. If the conservative side keeps shooting at each other the libs win and you will all be serfs.

Reading some of the slams at Beck on these threads is like watching the best help the Dem have of getting the power back. Keep shooting each other and the people who are trying to get us back to a constitutional base and you will deserve what you get.
