AP-GfK Poll: Independent voters sour on Democrats

WASHINGTON – Independents who embraced President Barack Obama's call for change in 2008 are ready for a shift again, and that's worrisome news for Democrats.

Only 32 percent of those citing no allegiance to either major party say they want Democrats to keep control of Congress in this November's elections, according to combined results of recent Associated Press-GfK polls. That's way down from the 52 percent of independents who backed Obama over Republican Sen. John McCain two years ago, and the 49 percent to 41 percent edge by which they preferred Democratic candidates for the House in that election, according to exit polls of voters.

Independents voice especially strong concerns about the economy, with 9 in 10 calling it a top problem and no other issue coming close, the analysis of the AP-GfK polls shows. While Democrats and Republicans rank the economy the No. 1 problem in similar numbers, they are nearly as worried about their No. 2 issues, health care for Democrats and terrorism for Republicans.

Indies think they’re superior to people who actually have political convictions, and the media suck (up to) them constantly.

Yeah he’s not that far removed from what most Americans are going through.

(I’m so disgusted.)

HAH! Were I one of them, I would kick over the traces and make my own way in life. Steal an identy, or, barring that, change my hair color, my eye color, my weight, my entire demographics, and I would cease to be “known.”

It CAN be done, if one is determined. And with enough money, I could be anywhere in the world. I’m only limited by fear.

The number who say they want Dems to retain control is 10 points smaller than the number who supported the GOP in the awful 2008 election. That’s huge.

Indies are as arrogant as Democrats; they just hold their nose when they vote for crap.

I don’t think the Bradley effect did much in the 2008 election. The polls were pretty accurate.

I doubt it has much of an impact this time.

Funny, considering who the Republicans nominated last time.

We had to take a staycation this year due to pay cuts etc. While I have taken a job that pays more, much of that increase will go to pay off emergency debts incurred over time.

Then he is off for one vacation after another. Yeah, he feels our pain. :)

This is America, and Obama needs to put forth an Image. He would not openly insist on his wife and daughters embracing Sharia because of the stigma it would put on his term in the White House.

Remember: Satan will tell 1,000 truths to get a person to believe ONE lie.

Don’t underestimate Obama. He IS a Muslim, and Michelle HAD to convert in order to make sure he was “believeable.” This means his daughters are Muslim, which also means they will be married to Muslim men. They are not often seen in photos in public and Michelle is visible only when it is convenient for HER HUSBAND.

Who is to say that Osama has no prayer rug in the bedroom or another room of the private quarters? Who is to say that his disappearances from the Oval Office at certain times of the day are not for Prayers for the Faithful?

Think about it. Just because we haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

Wake up. This isn’t a movie.

The Bradley effect would involve opposition due to race. The change in Obama’s support is not due to race, since his race has not changed.

I hope those who were duped now understand how stupid they were.

And I hope they feel GUILTY about how they damaged America because of their willful ignorance.

If they voted for Zero, they have no conscience, and therefore, can feel no guilt. Don’t assign human behavior to non-humans.

From what I’ve seen of this poll, they usally lean left. If they are this skewed, the Dems are going to be in a world of hurt come November.

Great. Hence, the GOP will feed us the same old pablum of RINO crap, because they can, and we end up exactly no where better off...

DO NOT BECOME COMPLACENT

Elect conservatives in the primaries. Support conservatives in the election. If we sit on our butts thinking everything is rosy, we'll get what we got before... remember? ... both houses of congress, the white house and a balanced scotus, to NO AVAIL, and Juan McCain as the standard bearer to combat abject socialism? WTH?

The fight has just begun. It is time to give the Lindsay Graham mentality a thorough flushing. This is no time for a break... Washington NEEDS AN ENEMA!

Thank you! Someone else noticed that. Republicans are always painted with the cynical raw politics brush by the corrupt MSM, and Democrats are always reffered to as what’s in their best interest, or in a manner of “helpful advice” style. Plainly, to Journolists they are writting about the home team and Republicans are the evil opponent always to be viewed as illigitimate.

Michelle Obama with her daughter Sasha and friends in Ronda, Spain.

The Moochelle luxury vacation in Spain really, really, really ticked people off. It was as if the cast of "Good Times" traveled to one of the most expensive resorts in the world and charged the bill to your Visa card. Voters were not happy.

But again, I don't understand these "Independents" who are so stupid that they actually drank the urine in a cup called "Hope and Change" just two years ago. Are these people really that delusional? Really?
