A Virginia lawyer has been accused of possessing and producing child pornography.
Joshua Gessler, 41, of McLean, was arrested this month after an investigation that began in May, Fairfax County police said Tuesday. He was charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of production of child pornography.
Police allege that Gessler met a 15-year-old Centreville girl who had run away, took sexual photos of her and transmitted them electronically.
Gessler was an associate in Arnold & Porter's Northern Virginia office and focused on corporate and securities cases, according to his biography on the firm's Web site, which was removed by Tuesday evening.
This is just not the type of publicity a lawyer needs.
Yep, and probably soon to be former lawyer.

As bad as this is, it really shouldn’t be “child pornography.” When you read “child pornography,” you think of a prepubescent girl or boy. This is less harmful than high school teachers who screw their 14 year old students and only get probation for it. Where’s the equal treatment in this when he faces years upon years and female teachers get off with probation?
I just don’t understand the appeal of this sort of stuff to anyone and I also wonder why anyone would risk his reputation and livelihood to engage in it. If this guy is married, he also will likely lose his marriage, too.
I am so confused -this was a case of a lawyer screwing someone. Isn’t that what they are trained to do?

Your insinuation is wrong and it immediately takes the debate from honest conversation to a dishonest argument. I merely said that there should be equal treatment under the law and that a 15 year old isn't the same as a prepubescent child. In fact, historians - Christian, Jewish, and secular - agree that Mary was around 14 years of age when she gave birth to Jesus the Christ. Would you call God, the maker of all things, a pedophile or child pornographer?

I love illogical people (usually liberals, but occasionally conservatives and libertarians) that can't have an honest debate, but instead make assumptions (as you did) or call names (as liberals often do).
