Boxer drops into dead heat with Fiorina in Rasmussen poll
hotair.com ^ | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 08/26/2010 1:37:21 PM PDT by Justaham

You’ll remember that Rasmussen has actually been the good news poll for Barbara Boxer in her re-election campaign. The last Field Poll showed her trailing Carly Fiorina, and so did Survey USA, while Rasmussen at the same time had her up five points, 45/40. Now her Rasmussen firewall shows signs of crumbling as it has her lead down to a single point, 44/43:

Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer and her Republican challenger Carly Fiorina are now essentially tied in California’s U.S. Senate race, moving the state from Leans Democratic to a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen ReportsElection 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in California shows Boxer with 44% support, while Fiorina picks up 43% of the vote. Five percent (5%) like another candidate in the race, and eight percent (8%) are undecided.

Earlier this month, Boxer held a five-point lead, 45% to 40%, and she was ahead 49% to 42% in July. Since February, Boxer’s support has ranged from 42% to 49%. In those same surveys, Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, has earned 38% to 43% of the vote.

Over its history, the senate has been mostly Republican in California.

There are signs - “Congress-created Dust Bowl” for one, and the other says Costa, Pelosi, and Boxer with a line across their names.

CA was a nice place when the Beach Boys were singing Sirf City. It was still okay up til the late 1980s.

Carly is very good on business issues, but she has uttered some goofy crap recently on social issues.

“This is a contest between two nutjobs and, regardless of who wins, the winner will still be a nutjob!! “

What makes Fiorina a nutjob?

Dang...(commenting on headline only), when I first glanced at that headline, I thought it said ‘Boxer dropped dead...’ Now I’m off this thread to do some self examination and deep introspection.. because that should not have popped into my mind.

If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is too good to be true.

“Didn’t know that Fresno could be hotter than Sacramento”

.
It is rare for Fresno NOT to be several degrees hotter than Sac.

Sacramento often gets the “Delta Breeze” which knocks a good ten degrees off of valley heat. Fresno gets the Bakersfield Blast instead. :o)

LOL! Glancing at the headline, it looked like a professional boxer dropped dead during a Fiorina rally, due to the heat.

I remember ‘92, too - the usual suspects at the local community college were oddly very reluctant to support her. I asked why, and found out that it was because they knew her and her kids! I was crushed (and surprised) when Bruce Herschenson didn’t win.

Again, those hard lefties that personally knew Barbara Boxer, DIDN’T LIKE HER!!!

What is really disturbing...I actually felt HOPE,JOY,HAPPINESS,GLEE, for a fleeting second; if I would have remembered your admonishment in time, I could have saved myself the emotional wipeout after re-reading the headline correctly.

The here and now looks good to me.

When the polls show the dem lead as less than 10 points the GOP candidate is usually in the lead.

California, Carly Fiorina, a HA, I think I see why her campaign has been so effective. Y’know, other than the dumb loudmouth closet bull dyke she’s running against. Thanks Justaham.

Traveling down Interstate 5 is depressing - empty fields, dead fruit/nut trees.

This was an act of environmental/economic terrorism by the federal government.

That sounds like normal summer temps in Sac. Went to school at UCD, swore that no hotter place existed on earth when I
stayed over one summer.
