Seventy percent of Americans know they've been conned
Washington Examiner.com ^ | August 30, 2010 | Hugh Hewitt

Minimum estimate of Saturday's crowd on the Mall: 300,000 Maximum estimate: One million people.

Meaning of the crowd: An enormous upheaval in the emotions of average Americans is coursing through the country, with a certain significance for November's elections. It will have a lasting, profound impact on America's political direction.

Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin provided an occasion to glimpse this undeniable phenomenon. Of course, the interpretations of what the phenomenon is and what its consequences will be will keep the chattering class busy for weeks, if not years.

Some on the left are trying, with increasing desperation, to use old and new media to brand this surge in public participation in politics as sinister, even though it was preceded by a surge from the left of people and energy into President Obama's campaign.

If the Media were relentlessly hammering Barry the way they did Bush, Barry would be at 10-15%. Let’s face it, we’ve got our own American version of Pravda spewing the daily propaganda on network news and in print. Not everyone has a computer, especially the old folks who won’t believe what you tell them because they didn’t hear it on the Tube or read it in the NY Times.

Not likely. Obama is going to get 95% approval from 13% of the country for "demographic" reasons. Another 10% are hard core socialists and will vote for him because they want the country destroyed. So the worse he does the higher their approval goes. Throw in the 75% of Muslims who adore the man and you have the 25% strongly approve that we see every day. The 20% weakly approve are the people on the dole. They may not actually like Obama, but the do love that free government money. You may be able to pick off some of those people if you neutralized the non stop pro-Obama propaganda, but you will never get rid of the people with their hands out, willing to sell their votes for a bigger welfare check.

"Seventy percent of Americans know they've been conned"

I'd say the 40% of Americans who identify themselves as conservatives realized before Nov. 2008 that he was an empty suit at best. 30% were actually conned, and the remaining 30% were true believers who needed no con job.

>>Neah. We were ALL conned. After all, the only alternative we offered was RINO McCain.
The only reason (other than Obama) I voted for him, was that I hoped he’d take ill and Palin would take over.<<

The disgusting part to me of all this is that everywhere I look I see the Republicans as mired in the muck as the Democrats are. The Republicans knew what they were doing when they put a sorry assed scab like McCain up as their candidate. They knew what they were doing when they voted to send all of our manufacturing and jobs overseas with the free trade agreements. They know what they are doing with their limp wristed debates over serious issues. They know what they are doing by keeping our troops fighting in the Middle East for Muslim countries that will never become true allies.

It is time we all had a heart to heart discussion about what is going on in Washington.

One more question; How many of you live in cities that are following the Agenda 21 Plan word for word?

Your math makes sense - however, I think that those on the Left are extremely disappointed in Obama that he hasn’t been radical and audacious enough (Billy Ayers has publicly said that Obama is a “moderate”). If someone has polled me about Bush, I would have said I was extremely dissatisfied, but for 100% opposite reasons that the Left would have given. That’s why Polls really stink, especially when you don’t know the exact questions asked and if follow-up reasons are allowed.

The other thirty percent are in favor of the con, or perhaps are just stone-cold stupid. Thanks Hojczyk.
