Israelis Are Willing to Divide Jerusalem
NYPOST ^ | 9/2/2010 | NYPost

Israel is willing to make a sweeping concession -- dividing control of Jerusalem -- as part of a historic final peace pact with Palestinians, a key Cabinet member revealed yesterday.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak signaled that his government is ready to drop its demand that even after the creation of a Palestinian state, Jerusalem would "remain the undivided capital of Israel."

"West Jerusalem and 12 Jewish neighborhoods that are home to 200,000 [Israeli] residents will be ours," Barak told the newspaper Haaretz.

"The Arab neighborhoods in which close to a quarter million Palestinians live will be theirs," he added, referring to the eastern part of the city that was captured from Jordan in the 1967 Mideast war.

I'm sure that no matter what concessions that Israel offers, they will be rejected by the Palestinians. They will demand the Jerusalem be returned to their control.

Oh shut up you silly cultist. You need to repent of your filthy works/self-righteousness and plead with God to grant you repentance and a new heart.

“There is no final “solution” in Palestine so long as there are Jews alive there or Mohammedans.”

God has a final solution planned, and I believe some of both will still be around to see it. Until then, you’re probably right.

God says “Woe to those nations that divide his land”...Read Joel 3. interesting. it talks about how God will judge the nations that divide his land in the end times. Some nations will never rise again from it. He seems to have a very long memory for sins against his land and Israel.

Well I think you turn toward God first...He will surely lead you the rest of the way. But yes generally there’s a moment where one recognizes that his sin is what has seperated himself from a relationship with God... but the good news is Christ’s death, in our place, has paid the price to restore us to God and placed us in good standing before Him.

Each individual comes to that place where they meet these truths before God....it’s basically agreeing with God that we have sinned against Him, no matter where, when or with who those offenses have occured....it is against Him those sins are committed. So none are exempt...we are all guilty before Him.....

Jesus invites each individual to take His gift of forgiveness....He offers it freely to all who seek Him. Once that is accepted then the Lord will fill that place within us that only He can fill.

Some people go to a Pastor, others have enough teaching that they go to a quiet place and spend this time with God alone. I know one individual who planned a meeting with God and told Him he would not leave that room until He knew things were right between them....When he left that room he was not disappointed and knew He had been with Christ.

Onyx...we know BiBi has been down this road before...He knows the games they play and he surely knows they never, ever, keep their word...not ever. He’ll play his role as he always does because he knows they will renigg time and again.... but BiBi will never forfeit Jerusalem or any part of it...but he may play thier game for a time...allows him to get and keep his ducks in a row..

I refuse to believe that Bibi will ever agree to divide Jerusalem. I also refuse to believe that the other parties are serious about seeking peace. This another another effort in futility, but if it temporarily stops murders of innocents on the part of Hamas, then so be it.

Generally if the parties are in negotiating mood they at least let up on their attacks, so yes if they stay this course for a time lifes will be saved...but as we know in the long run the Palestinians will walk away for any excuse they can muster...it is their way and all know this....

Abbas has little authority of Hamas...if any. But other ME leaders do and they are the ones calling the shots when Hamas strikes. So it’ll depend on how the big boys determine to play this...there’s allot of proxy players in this muck and mire.

A peace treaty at this point is Biblically impossible.

Never going to happen. The article should be titled..."Insane Leftists willing to divide Jerusalem"

Israel as a whole will never give up Jerusalem. Never.

As you live Gilo and head for the two tunnels down Highway 60, less than a football field away is Bethlehem, surrounded by a wall and under PA control, except for Rachel’s Tomb and a massive checkpoint for Pali workers whose jobs are in Jerusalem. Enough with this crap. Don’t divide Jerusalem. Unite it with its immediate neighbors: Bethlehem in the South and Ramalleh in the North. That would make the most sense for everyone, Jewish, Muslim and Christian.
