Open letter to conservatives who back same-sex marriage
WND ^ | September 6, 2010 | David Kupelain

Posted on 09/06/2010 9:57:15 AM PDT by LonelyCon

Just two years ago, supporting homosexual marriage was such an extreme, politically radioactive position that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton – both Alinskyite progressives and long-time gay-rights supporters – saw fit to publicly and repeatedly declare their opposition to same-sex marriage.

Today, as the homosexual newspaper the Washington Blade puts it, "conservatives have taken the leadership role in achieving marriage equality."

That's right. Not only have high-profile conservatives like Glenn Beck, "The View's" Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Laura Bush, Dick Cheney and many others publicly offered their ringing endorsement of men marrying men and women marrying women, but some on the right are, as the Blade reports, actually leading the charge.

Case in point: George W. Bush's solicitor general Ted Olson has been dedicating his time as one of the two lead attorneys who successfully challenged California's Proposition 8, which had enshrined in the state's constitution the fact that, as Hillary Clinton put it, "marriage is as a marriage always has been, between a man and a woman."

Indeed, proclaims the Blade, when it comes to the battle to legalize same-sex marriage, it is conservatives who "have achieved the most important success so far as they are the most willing and most able to take the case to the Supreme Court."

...

And S.E. Cupp, a young conservative Daily Caller columnist and frequent Fox pundit, goes so far as to say, "Conservatism and gay rights are actually natural allies. Conservatism rightly seeks to keep the government out of our private lives, and when you strip away the politics of pop culture, it's this assertion of privacy and freedom that the gay rights movement is essentially making."

I tell you what I say.

We are at war and in danger of losing this nation or we are not.

We can sustain this debt, ignore the Muslims and engage in every debauchery known and yet unknown or we cannot.

If not, then fine, this is a lovely little cafe message board where we can all be chummy and politely discuss the various difference of opinion, knowing, safely, surely, that in the end, it truly makes no difference which path we take.

OR...

We can LIE. That’s right. We can know that it is war. We can know the very heart and soul of the nation hangs in the balance and we can pussy foot around the topics, and discuss the sinking of the Titanic as gentlemen (and ladies).

OR...

We have wage holy war with no hold barred relentless, uncompromising, to the bitter end and die with our boots on!

Obviously, I stand much alone in the later cause.

Most seem well content to the middle of the road option.

And quite too many seem to prefer the illusion of the first.

I don’t really know what most of you are thinking, but as for me... Liberty or Death!

And sadly, Liberty is no longer even an option.

Those most are so stuck in the middle they are loath to admit how far along we truly are in this loss.

“Okay, so here’s my worry: It seems like every day another Republican or so-called conservative says they’re now for gay “marriage”. ....... It’s always the right caving in to the pro-gay side. How will this trend ever be reversed? “

It won’t be reversed if we keep electing dunderheads like McCain just because the liars have an “r” beside their names.

John McCain Again Turns to Homosexual Mark Buse to Lead Re-Election Campaign

McCain has a long history of flip-flopping on gay marriage
Yet veers to left in Senate reelection campaign by hiring homosexual lobbyist to run campaign

Looks like John McCain is veering back to the left already on gay marriage, having hired an openly gay lobbyist to manage his campaign, Mark Buse. This is more in line with his wife and daughter’s views, who openly opposed California’s Prop. 8 ballot initiative which stated that marriage is between a man and woman. Cindy McCain has a photo of her opposing that initiative as her Twitter profile picture, and both women have campaigned against it. It is clear McCain doesn’t want the Christian conservative vote.[snip]

Lobbyist Hired by Freddie Mac to Work on McCain Is Now Senator’s Aide (Buse)

[snips]”Senator McCain was talking about limiting executive compensation, and Buse was retained to nip that in the bud,” said a former lobbyist who insisted on anonymity because of continuing relationships with the companies.

Buse was nicknamed “The Ferret” because he helped his boss, McCain, find pork-barrel provisions buried in legislation. McCain has said he considered Buse to be like a son.

Buse left the commerce committee staff to lobby, signing on clients as diverse as oil giant Exxon Mobil, Wall Street firm Goldman Sachs and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, according to the government records. He also represented telecommunications clients affected by the committee.

Buse returned to McCain’s office this year as chief of staff.

There was a time on the FR when such a thread would bring out argument and ongoing debate. No more. It's just a cue for everyone to come out and agree.

A few years ago, some posters took over the argument and ran everyone who disgreed with them off the threads and the site. Then the owner came out and agreed with them with his declaration against "homosexualism." Many good conservative people have been banned or left because if they disagreed with any one point, they were called pro-agenda, anti-FR, and worse. We lost a lot of discussion when that happened. But that's the way it is September 6, 2010..............

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6).

There is a time when the Lord calls upon individuals, if they cease to respond, he leaves them in their wickedness.

One who backs same-sex marriage is not a conservative because he wishes to make one of the most basic alterations of society that there is. That is the antithesis of Conservatism.

"Conservatism and gay rights are actually natural allies. Conservatism rightly seeks to keep the government out of our private lives, and when you strip away the politics of pop culture, it's this assertion of privacy and freedom that the gay rights movement is essentially making."

If gay marriage ever obtains the official sanction and approval of the federal government, the private lives and personal beliefs of religious conservatives WILL be the central focus of some of the most aggressive and unrelenting governmental coercion ever carried out by the federal government against its own citizens.

Count on it.

It's a very strange world when Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton are against gay marriage and Dick Cheney and Laura Bush are for it.

Very, very, VERY strange.

It is NOT a slippery slope. It is a jagged rock near the bottom of that slope.

I would be cautious about using an Old Testament passage to apply to the post Grace age. But, that is my Dispensationism speaking.

In Romans, speaking to Sodomy and Lesbianism directly, Paul says in clear terms, that they were given up “Because” of their vile affections.

Cause and effect.

No other place is such a direct statement made regarding any specific sin.

Lots of generalities, lots of repent and you are OK stuff. One very specific, very direct here.

Again, most of the Sodomites and their enablers like to go to the Old testament and ask “should we stone someone who steals bread too”.

Because they do not and are not able to address this passage in Romans.

The Holy Spirit put that one in here to make it plain to us, when we had crossed the point of no return.

We are about to do so.

I predict we will.

Then this debate will no longer even be allowed.

If, on the other hand, gay marriage is making life easier for two (or ten) people, then I don’t care.

I've got news for you, homosexual marriage IS NOT about making life "easier" for ANYONE. It is about DESTROYING America's Judeo-Christian culture.

Yeah....

This is the exact example.... please take note students.

This is a poster who is not paying attention to the debate and just chimed in with a lovely little gem of a quip to suggest I “get lost”.

This, of course, is ONE of the reasons we have lost.

I mean, if this is what is passing for substantive debate on just how dumbed down we have become, I could not think of a more fitting example of direct ignorance.

How can it be, that I can post so clearly the refute, in advance, and still some foolhardy soul will walk right into it?

:::shakes head:::

Astounding...

I would go so far as to say “unbelievable” but, then I predicted the occurrence and frankly I am somewhat taken back by the fact that it took this long for someone to fall into it.

Dear Aga:

In case you failed to notice.

In case you failed to see.

This is my heart bleeding before you, this is me down on my knees!

And this foolish post is breaking my heart...

(with apologies to Jewel)

although I do think gays should be able to adopt.

Homosexual Parenting: Is It Time For Change? - AMERICAN COLLEGE OF PEDIATRICIANS

In summary, tradition and science agree that biological ties and dual gender parenting are protective for children. The family environment in which children are reared plays a critical role in forming a secure gender identity, positive emotional well-being, and optimal academic achievement. Decades of social science research documents that children develop optimally when reared by their two biological parents in a low conflict marriage. The limited research advocating childrearing by homosexual parents has severe methodological limitations. There is significant risk of harm inherent in exposing a child to the homosexual lifestyle. Given the current body of evidence, the American College of Pediatricians believes it is inappropriate, potentially hazardous to children, and dangerously irresponsible to change the age-old prohibition on homosexual parenting, whether by adoption, foster care, or reproductive manipulation. This position is rooted in the best available science.

Absolutely. And Ted Olson should be ashamed of himself for pushing strong favor of gay marriage. And isn't it convenient that a gay judge overturned the will of the majority's vote on Prop 8? Even Elton John, who himself is in a Civil Union, spoke-out against gay marriage. He said not to push for the term "marriage" (with the pro-prop 8 groups) --citing that it would put a lot of people off.

Tradition, Sanctity; the Holy Union of Marriage; the definition of "One Man and One Woman" cannot and should not be changed.

Once upon a time, marrying someone of a different race was considered to be an actionable crime...

This is not about civil rights. Behavior is not a civil rights issue. Homosexuality is a BEHAVIOR.

so what.

nature intended for two of the opposite sex to be bale to reproduce.
Two of the same sex cannot therefore it is unnatural.

This is all about two of the same sex getting off in their perverted way ., nothing more nothing less.

Because of how they get off they now think it should be taught into schools, into our daily lives, into our laws.

Marriage is not what they really want , it is a step in their agenda and one only has to look at MA and how it has closed adoption agencies, stopped people from passing bar exams, taught into schools and parents have no rights to be told of this. etc.

It is man with a woman, or everything .

So if someone says well homosexuals should marry then they should also not have a problem with a consenting daughter wanting to marry her father, or a man having 9 wives etc.
If they do have a problem with that then they’re hypocrites plus they’re helping the homosexuals to pass their agenda.

Remember the commie manifesto and how it said homosexuality should be encouraged to help bring down the west.

Any idiot which says’ well I know a couple of homosexuals they are nice needs to wake the hell up.

What a very interesting “take” you have on the subject. I wish what you said was the truth. I do. But I have direct and first hand knowledge that it is the opposite. Oh, you are right, in that honest and direct debate on this matter has been ended. But you wouldn’t likely believe that the end has come at the cost of Homosexual victory. When evil and good are BOTH restrained. Only evil prevails. For evil will NOT BE restrained.

Let me put that in lessor terms, since many will be blinded as not see what I am saying.

If you outlaw guns....?? Everyone can finish this one yes? We all agree on how this logic works? Only outlaws will have guns? Right?

So...

Follow me know... same trick... different pony.

If you outlaw free debate on THIS topic, then only the outlaws will win the debate. Because they will STILL push their agenda and we will not be able to push bad HARDER or HARD ENOUGH to stop it.

We are now fighting this war on this forum under “rules of engagement” and will NOT prevail because of it. Oh, we will be politer. We will be “kinder and gentler”. But we will LOSE.

So my FRiend, (Whence911)... you are right... but for all the wrong reasons, and to the very uttermost wrong conclusion.

to most it is not about religion, most I know think homosexuality is sick, perverted and disgusting .

It is a shame that homosexuals and their supporters actually thin that if you oppose their agenda then you have to be a church going Bible reading person.
