If a Democrat takes a seat from a RINO, it is not really a loss because when it matters the RINO always side with the Democrats.
Thank for the Arizonaans that voted for J.D.
For those who voted for Mc Cain....posting rules prevent further comment.
” Ive never seen FReepers demand an endorsement of the smearer by the smearee, though. /s “
Since Wideawakes went Fast Asleep, some of the liberal R’s and RINOS have trickled back ;-)
As long as we own the House where we control the purse strings I’m not as worried about gaining the Senate until 2012.
The Dems have to be planning on us taking the Senate and House and you can bet they will spend the next two years blaming Republicans for all of Obama’s failures. Right now we can say ummm hold on, we don’t have the votes to stop anything - what happens when we do?
While it would be incredible to slam the left this coming November by rejecting their candidates and taking both houses I wonder if it would not be smarter to spend the next two elections cleaning up our party then taking both houses.
It’s never smart to pull your punches.
I hope you told him to contact the lobbyists and warn them that money to Lisa must show up on reprots and that they will be in BIG TROUBLE for not working with Miller.
If your intent was to take over a country, replace it’s rule of law with your own and steer it towards your agenda, what better way then to have your own people sitting in all positions of government?
Originally RINO’s were southern Democrats that could not get elected through their primaries, leaving them with no choice but to register as republicans to achieve an elected position. There was a time in our nation when politicians were very open and honest about doing this. The same thing goes on today except those running will not fill the voters in on their true political leanings.
Agreed. Don't get me wrong. Hayworth is still a much bigger person than Lisa Murkowski.
I too contribute to my chosen candidates but I also realize we can not take back our party without getting involved and that does mean financially.
I support DeMint and his PAC because he’s proven to me to support Conservatives. I’m also not beginning to contribute to my State party and have become more involved once again. We will have no voice in the GOP platform if we do not become involved and yes, that means financially as well.
What I’m hearing from conservatives in Arizona and Tea Party members is that Democrats voting in the primary put McCain well over the top with Hayworth according to exit polling.
I’m not sure how true that is given the large percentage McCain won by - did McCain win because conservatives stayed home or did he win because JD was a poor candidate (ran a poor election) or is it simply that it’s impossible to beat someone who has the ability to spend 20 million to retain their seat?
Oh there’s always been a bunch of McCain staffers here. We enjoy it though, everyone loves target practice.
JD was so outmatched money-wise here in AZ there was no way he could counter the outright lies McCain stated against him, even before JD officially stated he was running... and it wasn’t helped by the fact that in August the elderly are still out of the state in cooler climates so the turn out is always very low in our primaries.
From what I’m hearing from friends in Alaska Murkowsi’s call out to lobbyists was pretty much ignored. She’ll get more support out of unions the she will out of any group/person who is on the Republican side.
;-)
you are correct. we need to support the candidates with time and money.
my fear is that the PACS use these issues to get money for themselves and take some of it off the top for their own uses. so I prefer to give directly to the candidates.
Didn’t he spend 20 million dollars to hold onto his seat or something close to that figure? I remember it was some obscene amount.
That’s why we have to be very careful of the PAC’s we give to. Only those that put their full financial information online, that breakdown exactly how much goes to each candidate (by name) etc should be acceptable.
Two PAC’s that I really like are DeMint’s and SarahPac. Both are fully open with their finances and neither accepts lobbyist monies. That helps keep em honest in my book.
I’m in. I hope he does not back stab me because I am breaking my candidate only donation rule.
McCain’s not a Republican. Sorry, he just isn’t.
