Veteran White House journalist Helen Thomas, who resigned in June over comments many viewed as anti- Semitic, has taken to the airwaves to defend the remarks, saying they were "exactly what I thought."

"I hit the third rail," Thomas told Ohio radio station WMRN-AM in an interview that aired today. "You cannot criticize Israel in this country and survive."

Thomas, 90, caused an uproar May 27 when she said Israelis should "get the hell out of Palestine" and "go home" to Poland, Germany, America and "everywhere else."

Helen Thomas is of Lebanese ancestry and has held far-left political opinions for a very long time. With her stupid remark that Jews 'should get the hell out of Palestine' she simply regurgitated the Arab-leftist line that the nation of Israel is 'illegitimate'. Few buy that but Helen and other hard-leftists do, or pretend that they do. It's a form of Jew-hating that has been around since Israel's founding in the late 1940's. Helen, in her dotage, forgot to use the kind of mealy-mouth euphemisms she used in her 'apology'. Her defense of her Jew-hating comment is lame.
