Original title of story running on wide-circulation daily Mainichi Shimbun today here in Tokyo is: "米中間選挙:大統領支持率低迷で民主苦戦 ミシェル夫人「好感度」頼み"
My summary translation follows (of the main points):
--As reports of the Democrats going down to a crashing defeat in the American 2010 midterms, the White House is pulling out all the stops by sending First Lady Michelle Obama out onto the campaign trail in an effort to save matters.
--She has generally stayed out of the direct political light for two years, focusing on families and obesity, but because Obama's popularity is heading downward, and hers is still somewhat intact, she is being sent out on this mission.
--She said in Wisconsin coming to the defense of Senator Russ Feingold that "things don't just change with one election, one single election for President, but (we) have to keep (it) moving forward."
--Nearly every American poll out shows that Mr. Obama's popularity is plummeting below 40%, but the AP reports from a poll that Michelle has a 69% favorable rating. She is not going on the direct attack against the Republicans as fervently as her husband is doing.
--She will be making the rounds in places like Colorado and California, before the November 2nd elections, to help Democrats there. / End Translation
Bonus point! A streaming video from tonight's Japanese NNN TV network with Japanese reporters covering Michelle Obama in Wisconsin. Random sounds and images: Sparse Demoncrat audience crowd turnout/unenthusiastic or tired speech delivery/crowd full of pathetic-looking, ugly, lesbian-type liberal Democrat women whose faces seem to bear personal *issues* admiring Michelle/finally, bonus still pic of hubby having a shoe tossed at him with the voice over that the Republicans in America are steadily gaining in power.

You are awesome! Thank you for this!
And man, are they ever going to show these D.C. and global elitists a thing or two in just a few weeks' time. :-) Can't happen soon enough for me and MILLIONS.
Thanks....
You are a real gem! Thank you for the translation!
“She has generally stayed out of the direct political light for two years, focusing on families and obesity...”
Okie dokie...if you say so! lol
Speaking of obesity...
and michelle breaks the law in the process
Thread bump.
That’s pretty funny. Boy those DEM women looked just THRILLED to be there.... not!
"shoe" = "book"
(It was in TEL AVIV where they were tossing "shoes" at images of the Maximum Leader, just the other day.) Oops.
I imagine the US Media would have self-censored and cut that part out, but Japanese media is generally not under those US MSM self-censorship protocols, and therefore the footage made it to airtime here in Japan. LOL!
Glad I could provide the link to it.
Here is is AGAIN (the white triangle over the photo of Michelle Yelena Obama)

Do the Japanese and Asian media refer to how big and nasty looking Michelle is? How un-feminine she is? Do they call her Manchelle or Moochelle like we do over here? Yeah might get lost in translation
I watched the video. MO had a puffy face (why?) and she seemed genuinely reluctant to say “God Bless America” at the end of her little spiel. She appeared to be choking on the words.
Dems dismissed the behavior by saying, "She probably didn't know the law."
Can you imagine Manchelle in a kimono? They’d have to steal one from a sumo wrestler
the Wookie is now proud to invoke their demigod frack Satans representatives of Islam.
Everyone must realize the dems are sooooo desperate using every tactic possible to reach for the estrogen or is it the c#nt vote; really not sure what political corruption speak is the correct version at the moment.
Too funny Ill take the average Asian female over any version of untested and supposedly America female; at least they know what is important or how to improve their husbands and families life.
Plus, Frack the two bit genetic or melanin racist bitches of America even more; especially those which believe Feminism is equality; ... convinced rule 24 is not real.
I do NOT think the Democratic Party want this viewed in the US and viewed widely.
The First Lady had a pout on her face. Even the Japanese anchorettes and staff used this stressed out photo of her to lead into the story.
Then came the video in Wisconsin. She had almost no fight.
She looked totally stressed out, or tired perhaps, almost bunker-like battle fatigue.
The crowd looked the same, hopeless and staged.
I think it spoke volumes. The body language alone and the voice/tenor that it came acros in.
One thing is so sure, this gave us a peek. They are so desperate, they must KNOW that they know that they know the American People are fed up with them, and that the Tea Party Movement, which they ignored at first, then ridiculed and then tried to destroy, is going to prevail very shortly.
This is why they are freaking out, on blogs and in chat rooms, in opinion pieces and letters to the editor, tempermental celebrity libs walking off live American TV studio sets, etc. etc. It really is driving them absolutely psychotic, that they could gain power, two years could speed by, and they could lose it in a drubbing.
Japan has BOs number.
I think he didn’t even bother to call the Chilean President, so that is two countries with whom he does not hold favor.
I swear, these people are liable to flee overseas with suitcases of cash, just like Ferdinand Marcos' family, after this is all over.
