Pentagon to comply with court order to end 'don't ask, don't tell'

The Pentagon announced Thursday that it will comply with a court order to stop enforcing its "don't ask, don't tell" policy barring gays from serving openly in the military, even as the Obama administration asked a federal judge to delay implementation of the ruling.

Officials say they need time to institute new policies to ensure that the change won't affect combat readiness or morale. The administration has said it will appeal the ruling to the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

In the meantime, "the Department of Defense will of course obey the law," Col. Dave Lapan, a department spokesman, said in an e-mail to reporters. The Pentagon will cease investigations and discharges of service members found to be in violation of the policy, officials said.

Military personnel who are forced to live and shower in cramped close quarters aren’t going to tolerate this pro-gay PC bullcr@p no matter how many commander’s policy letters, mandatory classes and sensitivity training sessions are thrown at them.

There will be tragic outcomes to the repeal of DADT as much as there are soldiers who would sooner face a capital general court-martial rather than surrender their bodily integrity.

Obama is CIC. He’s essentially ordered this as the judge is beyond his Constitutional authority.

...the Log Cabin Republicans need to be expunged from any credible Republican organizations or events.

Can the Republican party issue a "cease and desist" order to have them stop appropriating the title "Republican" as it is slander? (Not that the GOP would ever do this.)

Where does the president get the authority to waive his fairy wand and undo passed law?

God will NOT honor a nation that elevates perversion to a “right”, no way, that’s already been demonstrated. Then there’s the aspect of tainted blood supply for combat needs, the insanity is unbelievable. Total lack of common-sense and morals.

I just think of those poor Chilean miners underground in close quarters all that time. Can you imagine if a couple homosexuals was down there with them? It would have destroyed the cohesive unit and really bring down morale.

Our military has to be in close quarters too. I pray for the future of this country.

EXACTLY!! DADT was a middle of the road compromise between the UCMJ’s outright ban on Homosexuals in the military and “open enrollment”. Without changes to the UCMJ to expressly permit or to eliminate any Articles which directly or indirectly restrict homosexual acts (e.g., Art 120 and 125), the military is not just free but required to comply with the laws in existance prior to DADT.

It has “worked” so far for Women.. Creating a special class they are collectively the “Skate Masters” for both branches.
It ought to work for homosexuals as well.(There are individual exceptions of course but women's “integration” if honestly assessed has hurt readiness not helped it.*)

Want the PC Crap to stop?

Require every Officer and NCO serve alternate tours as a Combat Arms Officer/NCO then in a Combat Support or Combat Service Support.

Require Males achieve a Max PFT Score to Qualify to become an Officer or NCO..require the same from any Female based upon the same Male PFT standard (mustn't discriminate right?). Require an Expert Qualification on the Rifle and Pistol range . Set the Bar higher across the board.

Make everyone perform the 3 S's together irrespective of sex.

Tear down those permanent barracks and put everyone back into tents or mobile structures.. (Why spend money on buildings in the US when the mission requires troops to live in the field overseas.. Better to practice field conditions every day.

Require of everyone not deployed a monthly 12mile run/walk in 2 hours or less with 75lb Rucksack or kick them the hell out.

Nothing will work better to get the Feather Merchants out of the Marines and Army.. All the special interest groups want special privilege.. let them bleed and suffer like line troops, Officers and NCOs..

Make everyone pay the price to wear the Uniform and you will see things get back to the way they should be in a hurry..

Your not discriminating on the bases of race, sex or sexual orientation.. You just set the bar to where those special classes will no longer be willing to pay the price while Hicks from the sticks those “bitter clingers to their Bibles and Guns will and laugh Soldier On.

I watched a Bn of Marine Infantry Tejanos start humping at 0500 and finally stop around 1800 and keep it up for days. That will break the uncommitted in a heartbeat. They were not "Special" any thing other than Grunts.. Impressive is the word.

Solve the problem of special interests taking over and degrading the Marines and Army?.... Easy as pie..

W * The real reason women have degraded readiness lies with Women Officers and or Flag Officers. Far too many of both do not comprehend the meaning of Service..It is about them or their Careers not what is best for the Nation.. Female Officers in their Quest to become "Patton" have shoved enlisted females into fields where they are poorly suited and by extension derided fields where the unique characteristics of women results in their performing better with less complications. Upper Body Strength is not something anyone honestly can ignore in the Military from Line troops to Tank Mechanics the ability to manipulate heavy objects and perform hard labor is a big part of the job (a single track block for a tank weighs in around 250Lbs) and Alternator on some vehicles weighs 75lbs. If you cannot manipulate those objects or must get help to do so.. your not performing the Job. To be just a general mechanic the standard in the Army is to be able to carry your hand 75lb tool box 100yards then get to work. If you took 100 female mechanics today maybe 20 could perform that simple task.. The result is the male mechanics must do not only their assigned jobs but assist the females as well.. That reality does not help force readiness. It is also dishonest to pretend females can successfully perform the mission.. Electronic Tech? sure why not.. more importantly why not be honest about it. We do not let every male become a Marine.. Become as Seal or SF Troop.. why let anyone hold down a task they cannot perform for the sake of Political Correctness? Such dishonesty ultimately costs lives. W

Isn’t that special, the way they whine and bitch about everything.

I’ll say it again: LCR can pound sand, or more likely, each other. You will never ever have an ounce of credibility with me. You have nothing to be proud of when you reveal your personal proclivities are more important than defending this nation and the free world against jihadi terrorists and other evildoers. You do not love, or understand, this Great Nation.

If they had pulled this stuff with the Continental Army, they would have been taken out and shot before sundown.
