I love my Garand!

Me too! I will say though, that it's a bit big for me...even the scout version. But I love it it's extremely accurate and..well you know it does the job. Not only that, it's a beautiful piece of work. Mine is a springfield, walnut stock and it's awesome. :) Do you have a picture of yours?

LOL...no pics! It IS a beautiful piece of work.

I had gone shooting on a cold morning last year, and even though I cleaned the weapon after use, it must have absorbed moisture or something, and when I put it in the sheepskin lined bag, mold grew on it!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the good side, it made me really work on the stock with ultrafine steel wool and tung oil, and boy, it looks just beautiful now...:)

I live near the Springfield Armory, and go there about once a year...they have a lot of stuff there on the Garand.

Wonder how badly they trashed the mall.

Really? When I dealt with Springfield Armory they were complete professionals. Answered every question I had. The receivers for the garands are made in Brazil btw (as of 6 years ago). I made a comment to someone there about that and they told me they would consider an American source if the price was right. Anyway...it’s a great outfit...they have a staff of gunsmiths as well. So if you have to send your rifle in (or sidearm) it’s going to be looked at by someone who knows what the heck they are talking about.

(take a picture of yours :) ) Would love to see. Sounds like you did a good rescue job on it!

I believe Dennis Kucinich’s report of seeing a UFO from the patio of Shirley MacLaine’s house more than I do this report.

As I posted on another thread, I know some folks who went. There were three separate events in the Mall area today. The Stewart-Colbert rally was in the middle. The other two events bookended the rally.

It’s all right. That’s a quarter million people not back in their precincts getting out the vote this final weekend.

I’ve seen that picture posted several times but you can’t see anything in it. It’s dark, murky and doesn’t show people at all.

I wish there were a better picture somewhere...

Too funny, they didn’t even make it to the second grass section. The 9-12 rally (not nearly as big as the Beck rally) covered 5 sections. How embarrassing for Stewart.

I do not think you quite understand what you are looking at, the second photo is using a telephoto lens to pick up the crowd a quarter of a mile or more from the front.

Umm, right, and look at the same angle for the 9-12 rally (which was MUCH smaller than the Beck rally). There were not nearly as many. There are several threads around here with the calculations. I assume you saw the signs with Eric Cantor as Hitler? How about the NAMBLA for Stewart signs? What a total bunch of loser.

Now all their coordinated astroturfed efforts can only passably put together something over 100k.

Let's be fair. Although they're a smaller group, the leftists leave a whole lot more litter after their rallies. What they lack in numbers they compensate for in filth.

Anybody listening to Fred Thompson? He is describing the Stewart Rally. Hilarious. Some of the signs, “I like Pineapple”, “Vote yes to no”. He said they put up fences to control the crowd and they climbed over them and trampled them. Typical of liberals. No respect for boundaries. He said he looked at a crowd shot and saw one black person. The medias explanation? Well, America is mostly white! Wow!

That’s sounds comical. Does Thompson have a radio show?

....America is mostly white.... what a bunch of hypocrites. It was their ‘duty’ to seek out others of color then. You know the same thing that they demand of Employers and of course conservatives.
