Oh my God, could bluer than blue Brookline the capital of Moonbat-istan be breaking for Republican Sean Bielat?
For 25 years Ive lived in Brookline, where Republicans admit theyre Republicans at their own risk. Yet I havent seen so many lawn signs for a Republican since a few courageous matrons put a Weld for Governor placard on their lawn in 1990 and paid the price: social suicide. They were promptly shunned at Whole Foods. Their poor children sat alone in the cafeteria.
It says something huge about Barney Franks fall from grace that a few brave Brookline-ites are ready, again, to risk their neighbors wrath.
Heres what Im seeing: a few dozen small and discreet Bielat signs, mostly in South Brookline on the West Roxbury line, where theres more diversity. That is, you can actually question Al Gores prediction that the Cape will be underwater by 2025 and not be jettisoned from The Great Books Club.
I also see Bielat signage on homes worth $2 million and up. What do rich people care? If no other kids will share a cafeteria seat with their little third-grader, they can ship Muffy and Junior off to private school.
There are almost no Bielat signs around Coolidge Corner, where Bielat lives and apartments and condos dominate. Lots of Brookline condo associations wont allow political signs. Some wouldnt even allow American flags to fly on the day after 9/11. I do recall some Darfur! Not on My Watch signs outside condos a few years back though, which gives you an idea of what were dealing with.
Bielat spokeswoman Lisa Barstow confirmed yesterday why Bielat himself cant put a sign outside his own condo: his associations rule. But they did give him a special dispensation on primary day and for the general election, she said. Wow. How ecumenical of them.
I dont want to get carried away here. Were not talking a Bielat tidal wave. Signs for Barney and Deval and No on Question 3 still dominate, maybe 10 to one. And were not talking signs on every lawn like, say, in South Boston, where political favors mean the difference between a nice job and see ya later. I also dont see the whole GOP slate. Its not Bielat and Baker. Its just Bielat, as if Brookline is willing to dip its toe in the enemy camp, but no more.
What to make of all this? Who knows. Id still bet on Barney to win.
But Bielats a smart guy whos run a class campaign. Maybe the worm has turned.

By the way people....Barney sits on the board of a law firm, that handles most of the forclosures in this state!!!
He and his firm are raking in hugh $$$$ 'cause of Barney's lax and stupid leadership of Freddie and Fannie!!
Always remember: If only Barney had kept his Frank out of Freddie Mac's Fannie, we Mae not have ended up in this mess.
Frank is going to have a hard time swallowing this.......
Is there a more revolting politician on the face of the earth? Well may Chavez.
FNC is teasing me with the fantasy of being free at last from Bawney. Am I still dreaming or is it real?
....Is there a more revolting politician on the face of the earth....
Alan Grayson certainly. He and Bwaney are members of a very select group.
I am not in Frank's district, so I can't vote for Sean Bielat. However, I did contribute to his campaign.
The polls here have Frank ahead by double digits, so I will be ecstatic if Bielat does pull off this win.
Hope Bwarney doesn’t get jealous....Flirting with another man......
Thanks to your comment I’m having a hard time keeping my breakfast down....LOL!!
Forget the polls, forget the media spin. Go to the ballot box and put an end to the Dem Party. Throw this putrid congress out on their heads.
This ain't going to end well for these Statists
The Rats are shovel-ready for the dust bin of history.
It’s a long shot, but it’s real.
There is no way that Frank signs outnumber Bielat signs in Brookline 10 to 1.
I just walked through heavily liberal precincts 12 and 13 on the way to vote, and saw several Bielat signs, a couple signs for the DA race, and nothing else. Frank didn’t even have a hack outside the polls.
There was no line to vote, by the way, and over the course of the campaign there have been no loudmouths talking about the election in the supermarket or outside the school at pickup. Interest is very low here, for such a strange year.
The Gentry Liberals of this brain dead state will follow Frank off a cliff in the name of multiculturalism no matter how corrupt or pathetic he is as a legislator. I will settle seeing Frank out of leadership.
This would be a victory of the highest order if Frank is sent packing. C’mon Mass., you can do it!!!!!
Barney Frank is going down......
Barney Frank... SUCKS...
One way or the other, you know that's happening tonight.
Where’s Laz?
How is that news? Hahahahaha
I’m really hoping it’s real, but hard to say. MA is a Dim stronghold; however, IIRC, Scott Brown won this district. Prayers up and fingers crossed!
