Former President George W. Bush says criticism from some, including prominent rapper Kanye West, that his handling of the 2005 Hurricane Katrina showed he did not care about black people represented "an all-time low."
In his memoir, "Decision Points," to be released next Tuesday, Bush writes that charges flung at him that he was a racist during the Katrina crisis "was the worst moment of my presidency."
In excerpts of an interview of Bush by NBC's "Today" show, the former president was asked about West's comment that "George Bush doesn't care about black people." The accusation arose because many blacks were affected by the hurricane that ravaged Louisiana and other Gulf Coast states, and Bush came under sharp criticism for his handling of the calamity.
Bush, whose Today show interview is to be aired next Monday, said West's charge was tantamount to being called a racist. "And I didn't appreciate it then. I don't appreciate it now.......

It didn’t matter to blacks because he was black. Michael Jackson was a pedophile. Doesn’t matter to blacks because he was BLACK(for a while).

That’s a major point. They could have taken the initiative to get out and help others, but stole things and dsetroyed stores. Some families were so stupid as to actually sit as the storm rode through, not flee before it hit. A total lack of initiative and warped priorities.
Bush should have rappeled down from a helicopter onto I 10 with a couple of cases of water strapped to his back and FEMA forms in his pocket.
That would have been the end of that.
Would someone please explain the psychology of a woman who loves a man with a criminal record? This is so sick that money makes these things inexcusable.
They also seem to have an aversion to:
Authority
Obedience to the law
Standards out of their leaders beyond skin tone
Respect for society
Their criteria is flawed since they choose according to skin color and skin color only. to them, ‘getting’ whitey is the main agenda, not simply fitting into society and cooperating to maintain a successful country.
The eyes of those beautiful, happy children prove he doesn't have a racist bone in his body.
Amen, brother! You can say what you will about some of the things he did while in office, but nobody can deny the man has a good heart.
A fundamental problem with the charge of racism, is that it is the job of a citizen of this country to take as much control of his/her life as possible without sitting around waiting for something to happen. They had the tools to succeed and get out, but blamed the government for not acting right away, ssaving them from themselves, and they had so many chances to help themselves, but only helped themselves to stolen goods and property, while helping out in desecrating the stores.

5 years too late. He was the president. He could have defended himself. If he had gotten on TV and said that the accusations were unfair, they would still hate him and they would still trash him, but he would have done the right thing.
The DNC determined this was going to be their way of attacking Bush, while the storm was still churning away in the Gulf. Never let a crisis go to waste.
So why do they not vote for black Republicans?
