Keeping People on Unemployment for Almost Two Years is Gov Moral Obligation...

That is SUCH BS!! It just delays the inevitable....and I do realize that SOME unemployment is helpful when a job is lost. There are many who take advantage, and these are the ones that the government is enabling!

Once you make the twisted leap that the feds should support you for two years why stop there? Why not four years? Why not ....?

Most of us here agree with you and the “GOOD BOOK” which states that, “If any man will not work, neither shall he eat.”
Here in MI, too many, I’m sure over 50%, ARE working, just under the table and combined with the “gravy money” and all the hand outs food-wise are probably making more than they did before they were laid off.
Of course, they don’t have to bother with all those taxes either.
Then, the other big game is Workman’s Comp.. Why work for a living when, if you try hard enough and have a good enough lawyer, you can sit around and drink beer for the rest of your life.
Just last week I overheard a guy howdy up another and ask how it was going and the other replied that he was cutting lots of firewood to sell and still getting that good ol’ comp check. Those kinds of things are way too numerous.
I actually tried to report a neighbor who did this and the comp office hung up on me.
I guess handing out checks keeps them in a job, too.

When “welfare” started being referred to as “entitlements” things like this became inevitable. Make no mistake about it. Liberals hate their country and they hate the citizenry. That’s why they do everything then can to destroy the fiber of both.

I’ll see you 2 years of your moral obligation. Throw on 2 more years of moral obligation and then raise you an additional free health care, free house, free car, and free gas for life.

Man I’m so morally superior to all of you.

so ... 2 years is our moral obligation.... but at 2 years and one day they are on their own, and that’s ok?

And if it’s ok then, shouldn’t it be ok at 1 year and a day... or 3 months and a day?

Where does the Constitution deal with moral questions? In any case, the word “keeper” in the time of Shakespeare and King James meant “jailer”, as in a prison or dungeon. Lefties would like to keep us chained and submissive, so in a way it’s consistent with O’s warped mindset.

keeping-people-on-unemployment-for-almost-two-years-is-a-big mistake

Same mistake the Roman Empire made before they fell off the edge of the world.

In my 40 years of working I have NEVER received a single day of unemployment,

cuz I am a dirty dog, according to the government,

I am self-employed.

I cannot tell you how many times I was insulted over this by various government and bank drones ...

I pay but I get nothing so that others may get 99 weeks more.

Laughable.

Yes, laughable. I should also fess up that the three, two week “shutdowns” that made those unemployment
checks possible were my employer’s strategery against being forced to pay into the extortion racket
known as unemployment compensation.

The play for pay concept.

I guess Ohio’s in better shape than NJ; anyone may go to the job-hunting sites to see what’s available here (or see online newspapers). There are a small number of jobs, compared to a huge amount of people either unemployed or working part-time. The presumption that there is SOME kind of work available is wrong.

When illegal aliens stop coming to your area, you know it has hit the fan; some of the ones that have been here for a while are moving out of the area. There isn’t even work doing the jobs “Americans won’t do”.

The whole point of what the liberals want to do it to take the normal ebb and flow of the economy and smooth it into a slow line of growth, which is not the normal for any economy. THere are always periods of high growth, followed by a recession followed by more growth, and another recession....etc.

Sure, it would be nice to have a slower constant line of growth, but this required massive intrusions into the economy by people who then choose winners and losers. Any 99 times out of 100 they choose wrong.

The ebb and flow is the market sorting out those companies, and products which are not strong enough to survive in the long term. This is natural and good.

Underemployment might be better than no employment, but the system is set up against the underemployed and in favor of the welfare client.

Now THAT we should change. A man who does nothing shouldn’t be better off than a guy who is trying to work.

Why don’t we just call this WELFARE? At least then there will be some sliver of social opprobrium associated with staying on it forever and ever.
