Another strange occurance at my church tonight (possibly terror related)
11/6/10 | 1curiousmind

I hesitate to write this because I don't want to come off as paranoid. But I figured its worth it to share info just in case there really is something in the planning stages.

Especially after the church masacre last week in Baghdad, I believe that it is highly possible that a similar attack could take place in the US.

Tonight 4 middle-eastern men were seen down our childrens' wing at our church. They were walking briskly and talking in Arabic.

A woman spotted them at the other end of the hall. She tried to catch up to them but they exited into the lobby and by the time she got to it they had disappeared. A few people looked but no one saw them leave the building.

There was no reason for anyone to be down that hallway. There were no children's programs going. It's possible that they could have taken a wrong turn. But it just doesn't feel right.

This is the 3rd incident since last March involving young middle-eastern men. The first one involved them asking odd questions about the size of our services, questions about the children's area, even requesting a layout of the building.

The FBI has been alerted and its been discovered that at least one other church in the area has had a similar incident take place.

I'm writing this here because I think there are alot of FReepers who attend church. I would ask you to inquire whether anything unusual has happened in recent months in your church. Especially if you are a large church. And especially if you are located in the Detroit area.

We must be willing to think about these things (not obsess over them) but reasonably consider the possibility. Thank you.

THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE

If you all haven't seen Glen Beck's Friday 11/5 program, make a point of doing so. His guests were people who believe (and make a very strong case for) a breakdown of society will occur very soon. Beck laid out a very plausible sequence of events in which in just 15 days, everything will be changed and we will be struggling for our very survival.

Why am I posting this on this thread? Because the folks who want to harm us are waiting for the right moment to go after us. They will target churches and schools in a sudden and violent wave of attacks. The want to knock us out of the picture because they know we are the ones who will try to thwart their plans to take over in the midst of the chaos.

If you can't take firearms into churches in Michigan, keep them handy in your cars and the parsonage/recreation facility to be available to defend yourselves and congregation.

Have long arms at hand. Pistols won't be enough. Post lookouts to try to catch the attackers before they can start their attack. Have an organized group that has worked out a plan. Some to protect the congregation some to try to kill the attackers, some to call 911 and meet with the first responders, some to render first aid, etc. Have an evacuation plan that anticipates moving the congregation -and particularly children- away. Have more than one evacuation route, depending on which location the attack starts. Think this thing through and make a presentation to the group and to the congregation.

Remember When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

MI is a CCW state. The “presiding official” at a church can allow CCW. Time to quietly recruit some CCW deacons. Probably past time.

Have your people take weapons into the church to protect your congregation. As many weapons as possible. As much security as possible.

Al-Qaida in Iraq Threatens Attacks on Christians

Al-Qaida front group in Iraq threatens Christians with more violence after bloody church siege

Al-Qaida's front group in Iraq has threatened more attacks on Christians after a siege on a Baghdad church that left 58 people dead, linking the warning to claims that Egypt's Coptic Church is holding women captive for converting to Islam.

The Islamic State of Iraq, which has already claimed responsibility for Sunday's assault on a Catholic church Mass in downtown Baghdad, said its deadline for Egypt's Copts to release the women had expired. As a result, it said its fighters would attack Christians wherever they can be reached, raising the prospect of violence against Christians across the Middle East.

"We will open upon them the doors of destruction and rivers of blood," the insurgent group said in a statement posted late Tuesday on militant websites.

The Islamic State of Iraq is an umbrella group that includes al-Qaida in Iraq and other allied Sunni insurgent factions. It is unclear exactly what led the group to seize on arguments over conversion that have raised tension between Egypt's Muslims and its minority Coptic Christian community.

In announcing its reasons for Sunday's attack, the group said it was giving the Coptic Church 48 hours to release women it says are being held against their will after converting to Islam and being forced to return to Christianity. The group also demanded the release of al-Qaida-linked prisoners held in Iraq.

With the deadline expired, the group said, "All Christian centers, organizations and institutions, leaders and followers are legitimate targets for the muhajed

The group has specifically mentioned two Egyptian women who are married to Coptic priests. Some believe they converted to Islam to leave their husbands since divorce is banned by Egypt's Coptic Church.

Over the past few years in Egypt, arguments over conversions in both communities have worsened tensions already high over issues like the construction of new churches. The two communities generally live in peace, though clashes and attacks have taken place.

The conversion issue has become a rallying point for hard-line Islamists in Egypt.

The Baghdad church siege horrified Iraq's Christian community, hundreds of whom gathered Tuesday for a memorial service in Baghdad. One of the officials read a letter from Pope Benedict XVI to the crowd.

"For years the violence hasn't stopped hitting this country, and Christians are becoming the target of these cruel terrorist attacks," the letter read.

Sunday's attack was the deadliest ever recorded against Iraq's Christians, whose numbers have plummeted since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion as the community has fled to other countries.

On Tuesday it was Iraq's Shiite Muslims who bore the brunt of violence. A string of 13 attacks struck neighborhoods across the capital on Tuesday night.

The death toll in that violence climbed to 91 people by Wednesday, according to Iraqi police and hospital

I dont think it is being paranoid if it is the third of these type of events there.

Given the “separation of Church and State” - on what basis can The State dictate what may (or, may not) be done at a church, such as CCW? I guess the policy is hands-off, except when it isn’t.

If these son's of Satan create a calamitous nightmare bloodbath targeting innocent Americans, especially children...they will have the battle they seek. They will be exterminated from our midst.

Ping. Multiple attacks on churches has been my big fear since 911. I figure schools, churches, shopping malls, and subway trains are obvious targets.

I feel a need to recap. A woman says she saw 4 Middle Eastern men, speaking Arabic. I assume she is fluent in Arabic and knows the language well? Doubtful. She tried to follow them out but they “disappeared” and no one else saw them.

Maybe, then again maybe they were Filipinos, etc.

It was said the FBI was alerted. You never know but I’d hold off on stockpiling weapons in the vestibule.

Anyone in the congregation who has a conceal carry license should be packing heat during services.
