Just Spoke W/ Very Senior Ret. USAF Officer. Says USAF, NORAD, Etc. Have "No Clue" About Missile.

Just spoke with old friend, very senior retired USAF general officer/pilot. Says his contacts, many of whom were his "boys," have no idea what Pacific missile is/was

As I was calling him, he was calling me to run my old network traps to see if anyone at the network desks in NY or DC have any idea what this was!

Data from video seems to be that it was large, ballistic, (not cruise) sub-launched. Course seemed to be trans-polar, so could have impacted in Arctic, Russian Far East, China, etc.

Current guesses... and these are wild guesses (some from the O Club at his lunch)

1: Crazy Russian or Chinese sub captain. No explosion because they didn't want one, or captain did not have correct codes for the PAL.

2: Islamic.......... ????? Demonstration?????

3: Hoax... but that seems way to far fetched.

Navy is also supposedly bat sh*t over this because there was no acoustic detection of sub!

NORAD scratching head ????

There may be an explanation, but no one knows what it was... or is!

No offense, but retired, no matter what rank, is probably well outside of "need to know" territory.

Not with the "old boy" network.

Not when the active duty types call and ask "Hey________. You have any idea what this was?"

The only stealth missiles I know of fly ‘under’ the radar.

This one definitely wasn’t.

My guess is a missile with a leak that had to be launched.

But DOD says they have no clue, and SLBMs are all solid fuel now.

An idea? I can tell you exactly what it was

The plume indicates a large vehicle launch.
Launched from offshore
The launch vehicle was not detected
The missile was not detected

This implies an expensive launch capability and expensive missile.

This is not a hobbist

This was state sponsored

Question is... Who?

That level of capability reduces the suspects to a handful. Factor in relatively hostile to the US... And that leaves Russia and china

And since china has been pushing their missile and naval capabilities in the last 10 hrs, I would guess china.

Next question would be why.

That’s simple.

They just told us that they can drive up to our busiest port and one of our biggest cities... Undetected... Launch an ICBM size missile... That is undetectable by our systems in flight.

Message? They can hit any of our cities, and we won’t even see it coming.

Why would they say that?

Because they are not happy we have diluted the dollar by 50% in the last year...and now announced plans to dilute it again by another 50%, for a total reduction of monies owed to them by 75%

They basically said, don’t mess with what you (the US) owe us (China)... Or we will shove one of these up your ass

there was a scientific article a year ago,(I believe it was on FR also,)stating one of the Scandinavian countries had developed a submarine that could not be detected by any (American) present means. Certainly it could be obtained by some nefarious people.

Uh huh. I don't buy it for something like this, but if what you say is true, then your pal is lying to you ... because folks like you or I definitely have no need to know.

Yes, the USN even leased a Sterling engine sub for testing.

While I was in the kitchen putting dinner in the oven, I fashioned a brand new tin foil cap, and cam up with this.

How about the military are very worried about how Obie would react to a serious threat/crisis.

So much so that they planned a launch that would attract lots of attention, then claim ignorance of wtf happened, just to see his reaction.

Might be the beginning of a “coop” if you get my drift?

I’ve been watching CNN, HLN, MSNBC, FOXNEWS, FOX Bis, CNBC (I have at&t multiview going) for the last 30 minutes and there hasn’t been a single mention of this. I was just outside walking my dog and saw around 10 jets flying around which is an unusually large number. I’m not sure they were military but would think they were. Let’s also remember today is 11-9.</tinfoil> Wait...fox is reporting on it now.

Just saw a Fox report following the Glen Beck show. Now the Pentagon is claiming it is a UFO. Might not be a missle. Don’t believe you lying eyes. I figure it was swamp gas. LOL

What is unnerving is that it took a local CBS affiliate to get video of the missle, while all the government agencies have apparently been playing Sgt. Schultz [I know nothing].

If it was NOT from a US military mission, many were asleep on the job.

It is even more unnerving that this could have been a foreign submarine giving a demonistration.

If they don’t actually know (as they continue to claim), that’s almost more disturbing than any of the scenarios I’ve considered so far.

Perhaps it would be fun, help alleviate anxiety, and help our morale in the face of Bernanke&QE, if we make up witty scenarios.

Poking fun is a good strategy and might help some of us who are nervous about this!
