Here it is, from July 11, 2008:
(DAYTON, OHIO) “I don’t speak a foreign language. It’s embarrassing!” Barack Obama exclaimed today at town hall meeting here. Obama, who often touts his time growing up overseas, made the confession while speaking about the importance of teaching foreign languages in schools.

Obamas March 6, 2007 interview with Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Times, entitled, Obama: Man of the World, (Gateway Pundit) has never received the publicity it deserves. In it, Obama talks about being a street kid in Jakarta, about going to a Muslim elementary school: things he writes about in his autobiographical Dreams From My Father, events that one page on his official campaign website denies ever took place (Barack Obama and Joe Biden: The Change We Need |), while a different page on the same Obama website reprints the relevant paragraphs from the article (Barack Obama and Joe Biden: The Change We Need |); since so many other embarrassing things and people have been disappeared from this Obama websitelike the prominent position and fulsome praise for the Revs. Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfluger and from them to Obama--I wonder how long this New York Times article is going to be there. In any case, in this interview Obama chants the opening lines of the Adhan, the Muslim Call to Prayer in Arabic, with what Kristof says is a first class accent and then, Obama goes on to volunteer that this Call is One of the Prettiest Sounds On Earth At Sunset. Here is what this Call to Prayer Says: Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! I witness that there is no god but Allah I witness that there is no god but Allah I witness that Muhammad is his prophet
This opening section of the Adhan incorporates the Shahada, the Muslim confession of faith, and many Muslim scholars would say that if a person recites these lines, a person thereby becomes, for all time, a Muslim: surely something Obama knows. In fact, according to Muslims, it doesnt matter if you recite the Shahada out of heartfelt conviction, or with a gun to your head, the effect is the same, the deed is done; remember those newsmen captured in Iraq and made to recite the Shahada as they knelt with guns to their heads (Hot Air » Blog Archive » Centanni, Wiig freed (Update: Conversion video added) (Update: A Gilad Shalit connection?))? For the Muslim world this recitationwhich might as well be, and is, the deepest code for most of us unbelievers in the West--may be enough to tell them exactly who and what Obama is and where he stands. Obama is not supposed to know this stuff, Obama, according to his defenders, is not supposed to have gone to any Muslim school, much less to have received sufficient training to recite the Adhan in a perfect Arabic accent and, the ease and facility with which Obama chanted the Adhan brings up many questions about just how much he does know about Islam and how thoroughly and for how long he was trained as a Muslim.

That might not be a foreign language to him ... that might be one of his native tongues. Of course it is. He was immersed in the language, both at school, and in living with an Indonesian father. I suspect he does not stammer in Indonesian.

That is the issue with Obama.
We all have connections to remote lands that we keep alive.
But our allegiance is to America.
We are Americans.
Obama is trying to be all things to all people and he failed America first.
What has he brought Indonesia?
Nothing. I know folks that dedicated their lives to giving the poor children there an education so that they could have a voice among folks like Suharto.
What has he done for India?
Nothing.
What has he done for the African American?
Nothing!
Obama is a rich white boy pretending to be black.
The guy is a chameleon with no allegiance but the need to have power.

Why do you think English is a native tongue? He can’t say much without a teleprompter. For some strange reason, I doubt he used or needed a teleprompter in Indonesia.

He probably spoke Indonesian Malay when he was living there. He seems to echo well. That is he can repeat back a word or phrase in another language exactly as he hears it. Such people learn languages easily when they need them and they lose them just as quickly. I do that. When I was 8 years old and lived in Istanbul I could speak Turkish like a native. I remember almost none of it. When I talk to a Turkish person, if he tries, he can drag phrases out of me that I could not remember on my own. I could not truthfully say I speak any Turkish now.
Soetoro’s earlier perfect recitation of the Muezzin’s call is probably a bit of Arabic that he has consciously maintained. I have no doubt that he also learned some Arabic in school in Indonesia. It is integral with study of the Koran.

What stuns me is the way all the Commies cheer that he is out helping the po folks in India and Indonesia even as he is dragging around 330 Capitalist CEOS.
Yeah, John Deere is building tractors there with Indian labor, And selling to the local market.
But Mahindra is building them there with Indian labor and selling them to the US
He aint helping the common man here.
He is selling us out and making the CEOs rich.

Just bet you can walk around the birthday party for an hour or so and by the end you will be understanding everything the majority group is speaking no matter what language it it is.
It's not exactly like "echoing".
What's happened is you've simply retained the ability young children have of learning languages.
Did you know there "others" who can detect what you are doing?

The last big bunch of "cannibals" were on islands that are now part of Malaysia, a very similar country with many fewer people and a very large Chinese (Fujian) minority.
Java itself, the main Indonesian island, hasn't had "cannibals" running about for well over a thousand years!
